From one dealer to another.....

Finalizing a purchase on a 11 roadster. Why is it that some of the dealers I speak to say there is no production and therefore they can't take my order, and other dealers say no problem to order one ( 2-3 month wait time).....

Some of the dealers I spoke to are supposedly the " biggest in the area" and they say they can't even get me one. Makes no sense that one could and another can't.

"Can't get you one" and "can't get one" are two different things.
When a lot of dealers "take orders" on cars, they take what you are looking for and look throughout the network to see if one exists to match your specs. I bought a '00 Celica and this is what they did.
Some dealers are "taking orders", meaning just that. They will put in an order with Nissan to get a car matching your specs.

See this thread for some info. Dealers can't order a car unless Nissan gives them an allocation. It would appear the tsunami has slowed things down.

Because some dealers know what is going on, and others don't.

Because some dealers like to take your money and take you off the market. Regardless if they can or even able to get you the car.
