Default Just got a Quote on a new 2011 base, good deal??

Hi guys,

Im new to the forum and definately plan on getting a 2011 370z, magnetic black, 6m/t.

i called a dealer a couple hours away from where i live and they quoted me this:

2011 Base
m/t
in mirror rear view back up camera
splash guards
floor mats
trunk mats

= $31,163

they also quoted me with a sports package at 33,663

Those price are before any taxes or anything just the car price+options

They dont have the particular car on their lot that i wanted so they have to bring it in for me and those prices include destination fee.

This is in the missouri area. i am also trading in too.

from what i can tell that is about at invoice with the options.

before i started reading the buying/pricing threads, i thought that getting the car at invoice was a good deal, but it looks like people are getting what i have plus the sports package for like 32.5k OTD.... are these people getting the in mirror rear view back up camera too, or just the sports package and floor mats??

Appreciate any opinions or comments

Thanks

Steven

Prices seem about $2K too high. Most are getting the sport MT for roughly 31.5K before taxes, some variation depending on location. The mirror is a relatively cheap aftermarket option.

hi ChrisSlicks,

Thanks for the quick response and taking the time to post on my thread.

whooaaa, 2k cheaper, thats a big difference. He is suppose to be calling me back today, and i will definately try to work a better deal out of it.

How much are people getting their in mirror rear view back up camera's for, this was all i could find :

2009-2011 Nissan 370Z Rear View Mirror w/ Back-up Camera, Homelink & Compass

the dealer was going to install it at invoice.

Thanks

Steven

My car with sport package, M/T, Spash guards, spoiler (don't know if that comes with sport package or not) and the front nose lip was 31,745... so yeah you could do better.

Now is the time to buy, as there appears there will be shortages for the 370Z for the rest of the year until production catches up in Japan. You can use the Edmunds.com site to check what the invoice price of the car is.

That definately seems to be the case.

I just called my local dealership for a quote, and he tried telling me that he searched a 500 mile radius and didnt find anything but on their next quarter which would be july that he would have some in. but then i said another dealership found one ( he cited wrong search paramaters for not finding one on the the first search) so he searched again and found the exact same one as the other dealership and said that is was the only one around.

He quoted me $33,600 OTD

should i try to grab this one or wait until the next quarter next month to see if they can get some in??

that still seems high compared to alot of other peoples prices. but i guess theyre playing the supply and demand game

Thanks

Steven

That's up to you and how desperate you are. What are the estimated taxes and licensing fees for the car in your area? In my state is was over $1500 so you have to take that into account.

Besides it sounds like there is still some negotiating room. This was the first price he quoted you over the phone, and sure he will try and hold to that for a while. If you are willing to play hardball go there in person, talk to the guy, let him do his thing, and then write down the number you want. He'll disappear for a bit to "see his manager" and probably come back with a counter offer. If you feel you are getting played just get up to walk out and then they will usually give you what you want (they'll never let a potential sale walk out the door).

Just got a call from the sales manager from the dealership a few hours away from me and he quoted me 32, 943. but maybe sounded like he would go to 32.5k OTD. but i dont know if he's gonna try to tack on any fees later. he said that price was only if he didnt have to trade one of his cars for that car and if that was the case it would be an extra 700.

LMAO @ disappear "see his manager"

sales rate is 5.475% for the county that i live in.

Do i pay sales rate for my county or where i bought the car??

I just checked out fees on dmv.org, it said something like calculate the sales tax of 4.225 plus the my local sales tax.

does that mean im paying 9.7%??

definately a little confused.

here is where it said that under calculate fees

Stay firm on your price and you can get them to shift theirs. I paid 31k OTD for a new 40th. Technically it was "by accident" because I wanted a base which was sold and had the 40th left. Long story but it ended up being a huge success. 31k for a 40th and 1.5% 3 yr (5 yr also possible) interest rate.

Just be prepared to walk away and don't get emotionally attached.

hi bubbachong,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my thread.

whooaaa, seems like you caught the long end of the stick. 1.5%apr whooaaa. was that some kind of incentive? my local dealer said no incentives and the bank down the road typically does 4.99% with credit scores >700. dont know how the dealership a few hours away is going to come at me, maybe ill just go to bank of america or something and see what they can do.

this is what they told me.

he said that if he had it on the lot he could probably give it to me for 32K OTD. but he said because he has to get it from another dealer he probably wouldnt be able to do that. but then he said that if i didnt have a problem with having it driven down here then maybe we could do something around that price. but with freight then maybe im looking at 32.5k [well his second quote was 32,943 OTD, but i was thinking 32.5k ]

Thanks

Steven

For financing check local credit unions, or go through AAA for assistance. The local credit union here is offering 2.49% through AAA. When I did mine I signed all the loan paperwork right at the AAA office.
