I too want a custom order, so I was disappointed by not finding any June allocations in my area. Hopefully your "early July" info means Nissan is back to giving out allocations, and I can place an order this month. Signed, anxiously waiting. |

From what I have heard from Nissan distribution is that you probably can order in July and Aug.
If that dealer gets an allocation in July and Aug. that he can change to fit your specs. If the dealer doesn't get allocated one, it could be very limited to fill that order. (What does this mean) If the dealer doesn't get allocated a Z in July or Aug, and you place an order with them, you are rolling the dice. |

Wow that is pretty lucky. You might want to double check that now though. They originally told me late July as well but that was just a speculation. Now they have actually received confirmation from Nissan that my order is being processed. From the time it is processed to the actual delivery date to your dealer, it takes 8-12 weeks. They also told me that Nissan was not processing their custom orders during April and May so they could catch up on production. I'm pretty sure that this is acurate information too because I'm good friends with the dealer. In your case, did they get confirmation from Nissan that the car will be delivered in late July or are they just giving you an estimate based on their past experiences? This makes a huge difference.

Brutal,
the dealer that i went through is Fontana Nissan in Fontana, CA and i spoke directly with Danny about it after i requested for them to order it and he sent me an e-mail back confirming that my Z had indeed been ordered and that they had to call Nissan Corporate directly for my Z to be on the June production run. |

Z_ealot,
They told me the exact same thing. This basically means 8-12 weeks from mid-June until delivery to your dealership. It looks like you and I might be in the same boat, looking at August delivery.

I better call my dealer again. Late July sure sounds better than August.

go for it man, i hope it gets to you soon as well as mine...reminds me though i did call my dealer over the weekend and they weren't quite sure yet when my Z would be coming in, but they did say at the latest it would most likely be the first week of August. |

Agreed. I gave my local San Diego dealers every opportunity to sell me one. They get an F-.

Well, it appears July may be open for allocations.
I've had 2 dealers (out of 8 I contacted) call and say they can order a car for me on Tuesday (tomorrow). AWESOME!!!!! Only downside is that Nissan is putting a "must order" the splash guards, so basically, they aren't an option as listed on the website. So if I don't want 'em, I'll just have to take 'em off. Not a deal breaker. So until tomorrow then....... Wish me luck!!!! Happy 4th of July to everyone in the U.S.A. |

Called again and now they say that it should be in for early August. Another four weeks isn't too bad considering that I've waited this long. Keeping my fingers crossed.
