2009 6mt Sport package w/ 1129 miles. They're asking $30k which is obviously too high but what's a fair price for this?

Thanks NCSUPACK09.
It's really hard to walk into these dealerships and tell them you want the car for $3k under what it's listed for. But I guess I need to keep looking until I find a reasonable dealer. |

the market isn't really favorable for the Z to be honest. 2 seater, hardly room in trunk. There are many more cars that the avg consumer would consider over the Z. Just shop around. I can guarantee you that the prices listed on KBB is far more than what most educated Z buyers paid for.
I've found some 2009 used 370Z (Touring + Sport + Navi) at some dealers near me and they listed them for like $28-29k with about 20k miles on them. And those are the internet listed pricing aka pre-bargained. I'm sure if I really tried, I could prolly get them to go down to 27-28k. I think a lot of the problems is the misconception of the Z's various trims. A lot of dealers are dumb and listing used 2009 370Z Base models for like $30-31k, which I am assuming they "think" that they are selling a better equipped model or they can play uneducated buyers thinking they getting the only Z trim available / top of the line trim. I paid roughly 28k for a used 2009 6mt sport with about the same mileage a year ago. I'd say 26k is about right.

The sales guy tried to run my ear about how the KBB on this is between $34-36k, but that they're discounting it at $30,900. *rolls eyes*
I called in and made an offer of $26.5k. He's going to check with his manager. It is certified pre-owned, so it has the 100,000 mile warranty. He said the previous owner put an aftermarket exhaust on the car. That should also affect the cost of the car, right? (in my favor) |

hell yeah, use EVERYTHING you have to your advantage when dealing. These guys aren't just going to sit there and take whatever you say. They do this for a living and they are masters at BSing people. I actually love dealing with salespeople because I love the challenge of getting the better end of the deal.
Anyways, to get back to your post, I would tell them that I prefer my 370z all stock, but I would be willing to buy it with the aftermarket exhaust if the price was right

25k. Not many people are in the mood for a 2-seater or can afford cars like the Z these days. Let it collect dust on their lot if they won't give you what you want because contrary to what they will tell you, it will just sit there.
