Default Some questions before I buy

Hello everyone, I am looking forward to buying a 370z within the near future but I just had a few questions.

1) One of my local dealers has a left over 2010 370z 6M Touring w/ Sports package. I asked for a quote online and he said he's willing to sell it to me for way under invoice, which I expected, but wouldn't tell me the actual price until I test drove it. What price range should I be looking at since it's a left over?

2) I just graduated from college and will be starting a new job next week with a salary in the mid 60's. I also have some money saved up for a decent down payment. While I am sure I can afford the car, I just wanted to get a second opinion since I am not sure about the various other costs (maintenance). Would I be able to comfortably own this car?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't tell you how much to expect to pay, but I can tell you I paid 38xxx OTD for mine with all the add-ons Except NAv (kick plates, carpet etc.). I hope this gives you an idea.

We make about 88xxx a year and we have two motorcycles and two cars and pay rent and we're pretty comfy, so I don't see you having a problem.

mine is 2011

Assuming living expenses are not through the roof and you put some money down you will have no problem affording the car at all.

Good point. Texas is a pretty cheap place to live.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm moving to the middle of nowhere for this job so living expenses will be quite cheap.

a new 2010 touring w/ sport? My guess would be around 35-36k(maybe less) if he's staying with what he said about the price being below invoice.

Columnist Liz Pullium Weston wrote in one of her “Money Talks” columns that "Most people are smart to limit their total transportation costs, including car payments, insurance, maintenance and fuel, to no more than 10 percent of their gross income."

Not sure what the size of your downpayment is, what kind of interest rate you would be getting, etc., so it's a little hard to tell you if you can afford it.

The dealer by me has a Black Cherry 2010 Touring w/o sport listed for just under $32k. For a 2010 Touring + Sport, I would say somewhere around 33k-34k before TT&L would be a good deal.

Cool

Maintaining the car is not bad at all. It's still japanese at the end of the day so oil change, etc etc are not going to hurt. What will hurt is if the mod bug starts biting. And I personally think that the car has a decent price, what you need to figure out is how much monthly payment you are willing to accept afterwards.

Just make sure the dealership fixes some of the kinks in case you bump into them like bad hatch, bad fuel sender/sensor, incorrect tire pressure, bad gas cap, etc. And oh, get the color and trim you REALLY like.
