I took the exact same 2010 invoice prices as you $29,474 + $2,602 = $32,076. Now, the base MSRP has risen about $1,200 for 2011, so less just say the invoice went up $800. That gives you:

$32,850 = invoice (fair deal)
$32,350 = 500 below invoice (good deal)
$31,850 = 1000 below invoice (great deal)

Before you start flaming people maybe you should actually look at what they are writing. I was just trying to do the guy a favor by adding everything up for him.

The largest nationwide car dealer uses kbb, carmax. And my logic is correct. He is getting a new z for the retail price of a used one.

Now I was offered $33,429 by koeppelnissan.
That's the lowest I've got so far out 10 dealers for 2011 auto base sport .. lol

Your logic is wrong lol. Apply your concept to other vehicles and it doesnt work at all - its all based on depreciation. You cant just say, "Oh yeah, thats a great deal - KBB says my car is worth XXX after X years and X miles, so the deal offered to you is awesome!". It just happens that KBB thinks your car for retail value (AKA, used, from a dealership with 6K miles) is worth 37K. Nobody is going to pay retail value on a used car with 6k miles, unless they're a complete fool and dont know a thing about buying a vehicle.

In your case, you may have bought your car for invoice price (which was...what, 37-38K?) 2 years ago. Then you just threw up a KBB valuation saying your car is worth....37K after 2 years and 6K+ miles. You think you'll sell that thing for 37K right now? And what connection at all does that have with a new Z? You're saying a brand new Z probably WITHOUT all the bells and whistles (not even same options as you) being offered to him for 37K is a GREAT deal cause your car which HAD all the bells and whistles and is 2 years old is supposedly worth 37K!...which is apples to oranges, of course. 2 cars, 2 years apart, different packages.

He's getting a new Z for invoice price (or less), which is cheaper than a new Z at MSRP. Thats a good deal. Saying he's getting a new Z at the same (or less) price as the retail for a used 2 year old, 6K mile Z means absolutely nothing. At all. Period. It just means a website says your Z is worth so much, and he's getting a better price than that.

Lol, I did read what you wrote. You should have elaborated more. Anytime people start talking about "Fair", "Good" or "Great" when it comes to the value of a vehicle, they are GENERALLY talking about the condition of the vehicle. Your post was so vague and lacking any information that it was the safest bet.

Your math seems pretty fair to me, depending on what the true invoice price on the car is, of course.

I think pricing also might be affected by when you buy it, but I'm not completely sure. You might be able to get a better deal if you buy in the winter like I did. Back when I was searching in January, I saw some new 7AT's listed as low as $27-28k brand new for the base model. There were also several used ones that were exactly the same, but more expensive. The best prices I saw for a new 7AT with the sport package was around $33k, so you definitely have a good deal there. I got a good deal on mine (7AT touring, certified used) IMO because there was a snowstorm that weekend and I drove through the beginning of it to get the car. It was listed at $28k the beginning of the week and I offered $27k, but they wouldn't budge. 2 days later, they just dropped it to $26k and I went there that weekend to get it.

Everything is about supply and demand, really. Nice weather, they're less hard-pressed to get the car off their lot. Winter storm or winter weather? They'll wheel and deal a bit more just to get rid of some extra stock. So yes, time of year can definitely impact sales price.

To the OP, I think you can still do better than 33.4k

Good advice, but slightly above invoice is only an OK deal at best. As long as your enjoying the car though it doesn't matter

Offer $500 above invoice. That's all I would pay for any new car.
I highly doubt 370's are moving well in this economy right now,

And watch out on the interest rate. The dealer has many ways to try and get the price they want.

Good Luck... Z's are a blast to own.
