nismo 370z price?

Well, it's cool that it's $39,000. Not cool that it's a "track car" that will only do a couple laps before it over heats on its home turf. The idea of throwing down $780 for an oil cooler right out of the box is ridiculous. I'll pop in here from time to time and see what the status is on a factory oil cooler at some point.

You're striking at a straw man. Gnarf never stated that people buy Nismo Z's for exclusive use on the track only. All he said was that many buyers will track their cars. In other words, many people will buy these cars primarily for street use, even as their daily drivers, but also track them occasionally on weekends, etc. So you've accused him of being on drugs over something he didn't even say. I bought mine to be a track car and a daily driver. It does very well in both instances.

The NISMO is meant to be a high performance street car; yet it can be easily tracked... just an oil cooler, maybe a better diff (lol VLSDs suck for any kind of driving, better get that clutch type!).

That being said, the NISMO is not truly a pure track car, but it can handle the track a lot better than any stock 370Z could, regardless of trim or options. If I had bought a NISMO 350Z (in Red, at the Evanston Autobarn Nissan in Chicago, 30,500?), I'd likely drive that thing on the street a vast majority of the time. Yet since I know it's a NISMO, it's fully capable of a good track run. So I'd probably take it out once in a while.

And hell, you don't know the income of the forum members? Some people here have just too many cars in my opinion... and as far as I'm concerned, they could be crashing them into brick walls for fun. (but that's only because I'm jealous <AHEMfrostAHEM>)

So can anyone tell me what this means for the people who would buy NISMO for performance? It sounds to me like the car just turns into a massage bed because of the stiffness... but it just looks like those extra 18 horses went out to pasture.

Yes interesting results. The stiffer suspension will likely do better on the track, but the softer suspension on a regular Z will absorb bumps and road irregularities.

I'm quite pleased with the price. If one is likely to mod their car much, the Nismo is a great package from the factory.

Nissan is putting this NISMO Z on the market to attract race track enthusiasts (and the like) and yet they still haven't put on an oil cooler. Don't they read magazine reviews on their products?

Nonetheless, this model will sell and won't be covered under warranty because it was driven on the track - hence, it was abused.

Tenorino: I dont understand why you came in here putting down the 370z..mybe cuz it outperforms your discontinued M roadster..I dont know..but like many others who have supported me in this thread..unlike Ferrari and Porsche drivers in LA..Nissan drivers don't have to worry about expensive repairs and other consequences like Ferrari drivers do..if you check NAGTROC they have had WEST COAST and EAST COAST track meets with a lot of attendees for the GT-R..I assume we will do that here...If i were a victim of great marketing...you are a victim of engineering...just watching the video alone shows how capable this car is...a less than 40k car that is just as capable as a 60k Cayman S or a TT-RS..that to me is engineering...not fake add-ons that are just a scheme of marketing...if you do not like this car...go to 6speedonline and bash it there...but this is a 370z community...and you are gonna get roasted like Pamela Anderson...

Doesn't anyone get it? It's a CAR for the STREETS not for the track! That's all just marketing! How many of these do you think will even see a track?? They throw a body kit on it and make some...

your opinions do matter in this forum...but almost all of your posts have a negative tone towards the 370z...if you dont like the car...

if you want to make a serious argument..use factual evidence instead of stereotypical LA driver observations...let's keep the personal name calling to the 11-13 year olds...

edit: to sum it up...remember when i said that there are GT3s on the street yet many still do track the cars...itll be a similar instance to the Nismo...In my area..I see very high end cars..I've seen Veyrons, Scuderias, LP640s, ZR-1s, GT-Rs...yet I have only seen 1 Nismo 350z..is it because they dont sell...or maybe the drivers use it as a track car..who knows...nevertheless on the nismo 370z adding an oil cooler is $780..and a nice LSD is around $1500..a small price to pay for a 40k car...I was putting down your comment of "It's a CAR for the STREETS not for the track!" ... just cuz it isnt true..thanks and have fun at 6speedonline...

Wonder what Invoice will be for it? and if any dealer would order one @ invoice or close to invoice for a no hassle sale of the car or if they're told MSRP and no less??

That's the only way I'd consider picking one up.

i still think that a touring with sport package is a better deal than the nismo, i don't know, i think its because the regular 370 is such a great car from factory, that nobodys gonna have any trouble rippin it on the track. Unless your at a higher level of driving and you wanna play michael schumacher for real (which theres nothing wrong with that).

I hope you know almost all stock cars are not going to be able to run 5 laps at maximum speed. You will overheat your brakes and tires before the engine.

Uhhhh, I'm not talking about wear items like brakes and tires, I'm talking about important things like an engine. My GTI has 63,000 miles on it, 20+ track days, maxed out stock turbo, and the temp gauge has never risen above 190 on the hottest, humidest of August days after a 40 minute session at Watkins Glen. Simply stated, I would expect a Nissan track car to hold up a better than my "grocery getter" GTI. Further more, I've seen plenty of bone stock cars at the track run balls to the wall for 2 days with absolutely no issues, including some wacko in a Prius. You sir, have no idea what you're talking about. But, this is the internet, so...
