So, the question is should I wait to get the Nismo or stick with the 370Z? I like the body kit of the nismo way better than the 370Z but just for some "exclusive stuffs" do you think it worth it for that price?
depends what you want i mean if you want luxury and still want sporty look get the touring and sport..but if you want exclusivity of the nismo ( not sayng the 370z isent exclusive) i dont know i just like the nismo a lot lol

And that review is why I will keep my NISMO 350z. All the issues they had on the track.

Another bit that didn't make production is an engine oil cooler, a $780 part that Nissan recommends for any Z-car that will see track use, because the electronics put the engine into limp-home mode with a reduced rpm limit as soon as they detect potentially destructive oil temperatures. The Nismo Z we drove had the cooler fitted, as does our long-term 370Z. Nevertheless, the production Nismo 370Z will not get one — an odd oversight in a performance model.

Nismo 370Z Differential Failure | Straightline Blog on Edmunds' Inside Line

Nismo differential failure? Perhaps that delayed the release until Fall 2009?

According to Edmunds:
"Get Yours Soon
Nissan expects the Nismo model to account for about 5 percent of 370Z sales. The car will be available in late June with one transmission option — the six-speed manual with SynchroRev Match. Pricing will start at less than $40,000 and five colors will be available: silver, gray, black, white and red."

I don't think Nissan rushed it as much as they made a calculated business decision.

Skimping on the Torsen LSD, oil cooler and diff cooler probably kept the MSRP under $40K which is a magical number for this segment.

Owners that will regularly track the Nismo, will likely add these components anyway along with other performance upgrades to make the car more competitive.

I can't believe that they would release a Nismo tuned car without the key component everyone is complaining about. And, oil cooler or not the additional fact that their test car blew the diff in front of the press is even worse. A delayed release date would also have people looking at the 2010 model instead, so then dealers would find themselves with old inventory the can't get rid of, probably mostly automatics.

seems like they are marketing the nismo as a track only car and yet its not capable of staying on the track long without an oil cooler

eventually they'll add it but probably not anytime soon.

the Nismo 350z feels like they just came out..considering they came out during the last years of the 350z..the Nismo 370z comes out a couple months after the first years 370z..although the 350z and 370z are somewhat similar...that doesnt take away from the fact that each car still needs its own r&d..the oil cooler and diff cooler...sold in a bundle..should be relatively inexpensive..kinda like what the sport package is..its a $3000 option...but the goodies inside the sport package goodie bag are more expensive than $3000...adding an oil cooler, diff cooler, and torsen LSD would justify its price..IMO..I feel the release of this car was rushed...that doesnt take away from the fact that I absolutely love this car...I just wish it were perfect..with nothing breaking and such..whatever happened to all the over-engineered cars...
