New 370z or used g37?
For kicks, I just decided to do a quick Carmax and cars.com search for an Infiniti G37.
It appears the average price for a used Infiniti G37 Journey, with under 10k miles, is about $35,000 and base g37s around $33,000. I found that interesting because it seems the new 370z Touring, will be about $34,000. Has any of you considered a used g37 instead of the new 370z? And in your opinion, what are the fundamental differences between the two classes? Last edited by dutty370Z; 11-19-2008 at 09:04 AM. |

a. Do you need 4 seats? b. Do you need a bigger trunk? c. Would you give up a little bit of luxury for more performance. If you answer NO to all those questions, then you should def get the 370Z.

I say go 370z if your not near marriage!
But if your looking for that someone and want to get kids within 5 years. Go for the G37 more of a daily driver no? More room, probably more comfortable cause its luxury, but it's gonna cost you weight and speed! Up to you man, I'm still young so I'll be with the true sports car 370z!

The feel should be different between the two. You're talking sub 3300lbs on the 370z and over 3700lbs on the G37, with essentially the same hp output. Personally, I am in it for power/weight, and 1hp/9.72lbs (approx) for the Z is pretty dang good. So keep that in mind. I absolutely DO NOT need this car to be practical in any way, shape or form, the hatch access is gravy.

Anyway, do you know if the autos going to cost extra on top of that or if it'll simply be a matter of choice?

I think you will have a choice of the 6sp manual or the 7sp auto for no extra cost. Much like the current Z if i'm not mistaken. But your right they may have set the price sub $30k just to attract buyers, then charge extra for everything. Wasn't side airbags a $600 option in the 350z? Ridiculous.

Yeah your right. I remember test driving the g37 a few months ago, and even though it had all that horse power, it felt a lil lazy. For a refresher, I test drove a 2008 350z today (brand new, still on lot...dealers are trying HARD to get rid of these) and it was alot more agile, responsive, and easier to chuck around. had a huge blind spot over my left shoulder though...
