Smile Good starting offer for a new 2010 370z?

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new 370z. I found a dealer in the area that is selling a new 2010 370z Touring model. It's an automatic with the sports package. After doing some research, I found the MSRP of the car to be about $39,300. The car is being advertised on autotrader.com for $34,506. The invoice price for the car is about $36,220. So its already priced about 4.75% below invoice.

What would be a good price to start my negotiations? Will I be insulting them if I offer 10-15% below invoice? Or since its a 2010, is it a reasonable offer?

Thanks!

I got my 09 6mt touring with sports and navigation package for 39k out the door. I bought it Dec. of 09 brand new. I hope this helps.

You might want to check out 2011 prices, too. I just picked up my 2011 Sport (not Touring) MT (not Auto) for right at $32K. If you're getting a brand new 2010, that seems fairly reasonable. But I suspect the 2011 prices aren't significantly different - they weren't here in Central TX. It never hurts to ask.

Also, don't ever feel bad for low balling a dealer - if you know your numbers you know whether you're low balling them. Just be willing to negotiate in a courteous manner and without being argumentative. Private sellers deserve a bit more respect and would generally be insulted by such types of offers.

I picked up a 2011 370z 7AT Black Touring for 35,646 Drive Out. This one was without a sports package. At a starting point I would start of with ridiculous price 33,000 drive out (with Sports) and 30.500 (non Sports). Since it is a 2010 model.
Don't be impulsive. Look around gather quotes from other dealers too, nearby cities too. Use their quotes and then haggle on the price with the interested dealer, hinting to beat the price from other dealer.

They won't turn you down.
