Default Monterey Blue Discontinued?

I'm new here but looking for a new 2011 Z!

I spoke with a dealer in VA (northern VA) and they told me that Nissan is cancelled the 370Z in Monterey Blue. Obviously they tried to sell me on a car they had in stock.

Is there any truth to this? I really want a Z in BLUE!!!

Anybody know how/dealer that can place an order for a Z? This dealer told me they can only see 1.5 months out on allocation and there appears to be no blues.

according to my information they discontinued the yellow, check the nissan web site they still offer the MB as one of the colors on the web site, so i think they are bluffing.

I was skeptical considering this isn't the "most popular" time to buy Z, maybe they just cant get one now and want to make the sale now though.

thank god... that color was ugly anyway...

i dont think its discontinued. A few years ago when i went to buy my altima, the guy at this one dealer tried telling me that the 'convenience' package was discontinued because that's what i wanted and he didn't have it.

That dealer is full of sh*t, unless he means they're discontinuing it for 2012, in which case I dunno. But 2011's come in blue.

C. Yellow was a special color but canceled after 2009. Black Cherry was the next special color, but it stuck around and they discontinued Platinum Graphite. Gun Metal is the new special color.

Isn't Gun Metal just a slightly darker version of Platinum Graphite? Also the 40th gray was also a special edition color. A guy at a Nissan dealership once told me I could get the 40th gray color on a non-40th Z. I told him it was only for the special edition, but he said it wasn't. I asked for a Z in that color only to be told 20 mins later that it was not available in that color. I have yet to meet a salesman at a dealership that knew more about the car that I was looking at than I did. I wouldn't believe what that guy told you.

haha, I had a dealer tell me that he wouldn't consider a Genesis Coupe because it was only in its first production year in 2010. Meanwhile, the Z was better solely because it was in its second production year in 2010? lollerz?

Oh, and Monterey Blue still shows as a color for the 2011 models. I just went to their main website and began to build my 2011 model and sure enough, Monterey Blue is a color choice.

A little off topic, but so far there have only been 2 limited colors right?
  • yellow which cost 200 more
  • 40th
  • GM simply replaces PG
  • Does the black cherry cost an extra 200 since it is still around for 2011?

Technically, there have been 3.

Chicane Yellow cost additional in '09.
Cherry cost additional last year.
40th cost extra, but as part of a package.

No colors cost extra for 2011.
