Dealership contact/updates after ordering a car
I ordered a Z on March 2nd. Everything supposedly went great and they told me the car would be here mid-April. They told me that they would send me a sheet with the final pricing within a week, but I still havent gotten anything.
Is it reasonable to keep calling them and hounding them for information on the car and/or delivery date? Or am I just being an annoying customer? Basically, should the dealer be calling me at least bi-weekly to update me on the status of my car order, or should I just sit tight and wait for the day they call me and tell me its in? |

Lol you shouldn't call them and they shouldn't call you biweekly to update about your car. I believe they can give you a vin number or a print out of your order sheet.

Haha ok sounds good. Ive heard different stories from different people about that. when my dad ordered his Porsche GT2, the dealership called him every 2 weeks to the day to tell him about the status of his order.
But then again, im not ordering a porsche... |

Good thing I called to check up on it! I called and no one would talk to me. I finally demanded to talk to a sales guy and he confirmed that my car came yesterday, and that I can pick it up whenever.
I am just waiting on PenFed's check and then I am heading over to pick up my Z! Wonder why they wouldnt call me to inform me that my car had arrived?! They were nice in person, but I never got as much as a peep from them and actually never even got an emailed order sheet for my car from them. Its almost as if they were dodging my calls? Anyone know why this is? were they trying to maybe sell it off to someone else for a higher price or something? |

Why are there so many sorry car dealerships/salesmen (I know there are a few good ones, but they're few and far between)? First, I wish they could please realize they are not doing me a favor by selling me a car. Secondly, these people are "professionals", so why are so many of them clueless about the cars they sell? Most of them have probably had plenty of time on their hands lately, so why not read some of those brochures floating around the showroom. /rant |

I figure if they can, they would be my second and third options. I am just a little afraid that ill show up and the dealer will try to raise the price and ill walk away empty handed after a 2 month wait, and theres nothing worse than THAT. At least if they try and pull that, ill have a back-up dealer or two who can match the price and I can just drive down the street and give the other dealer my business... |

I suggest you just walk into you dealer tomorrow, look for the person that sold you the car and just slap him. Then just walk out.
He'll start to wonder who you are and what would be the reason for you to slap him. Hench, he will call you the next day saying, "Hey, you're cars in. I would've never remembered had you not slap on the face yesterday. Come pick it up..." That wasn't supposed to be funny. |

I'm thinking of going with either a manual Touring Blue or White with Persimmon but sans the Sport Package and I would assume that car likely wouldn't exist on the lots so I'll need to order it. |

Guys,
Picked up the Z today and it absolutely rocks! The dealer had been avoiding my calls because there was a double sale or something like that, so they didnt want to tell me that my Z had come in until they sorted that situation out. Its all good now and I got a free trunk mat out of it! Ive been driving it like crazy and its AWESOME! |
