I like that idea ...that being said mine had 7-8 miles on it when I took hold of it and test drove it. Walked out the door with 13 or 14 miles on it after the test drive and gas fill

I would be out for blood. Someone daily drove your ride for the heck of it.

But...the extended warranty is a nice gift. That would probably make me forget about it.

No way! Ask for a five year maintenance contract or extended warranty. If you start with $72.75 (.25 X 291) you will not have much room to negotiate.
That didn't come to much did it?? I say 3 meeelllion dollars!

the car I want to buy has 17.1 miles on it.

I'm going to make a note to myself, do NOT accept delivery if it's above 20.

I'd say they matter, those could have been 291 miles with a sh*t load of WOT pulls and redline. You didn't knowingly purchase a brand new vehicle with 291 miles on it. I'd break out my owners manual and show them where it states 1,200 miles below 4000rpm. How can you be sure they didn't do this?

Not knowing, in itself, should be good for an 84 month security plus gold maintenance and service plan.

Other than than, what argument are you going to make? They're certainly not going to give you cash or a different car.

I am pretty sure the dealer would be voiding your warranty if they found out you beat up the car before the break in period ended. There is a reason you are supposed to take it easy on the car for the first few hundred miles. I know the car wasn't delivered to you in that condition, but you have no idea what the dealer did to that car. I have read and heard of way too many horror stories where dealers and mechanics were caught by the cops speeding, get in an accident, or break something else in a vehicle dropped off for maintenance. You know they beat the **** out of that car. Hell, when I test drove TLs I would only take out a model I wouldn't buy, and I tested the acceleration with only 15 miles on the car (kind of feel bad). The manager played the embarrassed card to avoid having to take the car back (if that was possible).

I had the option to buy my TL from a dealer one hour away for the same price as one 3 hours away (both ridiculous deals), but when I called right before leaving I had them check the mileage (220+), and proceeded to make the 3 hour trip to pick up the one with only (24) miles.

Do you have photos of the car showing 9 miles on it before you took delivery?
