Dealership provides rental car?

I'm just wondering because for maintenance service it takes more than a day. Does dealership provide rental cars?

I think if you're lucky, you'll get a free shuttle ride to your house and back again when the car's ready.

That's about it.

Same here. Also give you one on major maintenance cycles. 30,000, 60,000 etc.
Purely depends on the dealer. "Should they"? Not really. Just a courtesy.

It depends on the dealership. When i had my Cobalt and it went in for work that was doing to take a full day, the paid for a taxi.

But when i had to bring my truck in to get detailed when i first bought it, they said they would give me something equal of what i drive. I asked them since i have a viper engine could they give me the viper car, they said no and gave me a dodge ram 1500

I needed a new short block, and the dealership where I bought it provided me a rental for eleven days. Was this because I bought it at the same place? I do not know.

It's a gray area. If the work is covered under warranty, so is the rental car they arrange. If you are paying for the work, you pay for the rental too. A couple times I've wanted to drop off the car to get the ECM changed (high pitch whine), and they claim they'll give me a rental but pay for it only if they diagnose the sound as a problem.

Yet another reason I'm never buying another Nissan. LandRover and Audi used to give me their latest model to enjoy driving around while my car was in the shop. I remember driving around a fully loaded Discovery for a week when it first came out.

For the most part only luxury brands provide courtesy cars however they might give you an enterprise

You need to ask the Service Customer representative sometimes, some dealer just will offer you like already stated a shuttle.

Others brands like when I had my BMW they had the car ready to go once I drop my car for service even if it was for one day.

I've had a Altima hybrid and 2011 3.5s maxima as my loaner for warranty work that was done.

For service no, you get a shuttle ride if you're lucky. For substantial warranty work most will give you a free rental.

That was one of the nice benefits of Infiniti, free no hassle loaner on anything more substantial than an oil change. Plus the loaners were always the latest fully loaded G sedans, kind of like having an extended test drive of the latest model. If the Infiniti sales people around here weren't such pricks I probably would have bought another one (and the Z of course).

I'm not yet a z owner. Still in the reasearch stages. BUT, in reading this tread, I felt compeled to respond. I purchased a 2000 Avalon from an out-of-town dealer, than pruchased a 2000 tacoma from the local dealer. Yes, with warranty work the dealer provide me with a "loaner" (not a rental). Both vehicles have long-ago gone out of warranty, yet the dealer still provides me with "loaner" (for free) for my 25 miles round trip home while the services is being completed.
