When can we order?

Just curious if there is a date we can order the new z, and when will they ship the first ones?

I remember reading somewhere we should be able to order them by the end of January. DO NOT quote me on that yet. Let me find out more

Nissan370z 11-16-2008 08:51 PM

I think they're taking deposits as of now.

g35lamd 11-16-2008 09:21 PM

Pricing would be nice before plopping down money - specifically for options, etc since the base model sounds like 29,990.

CrownR426 11-18-2008 02:43 AM

OMG!
I'm going to the nissan dealerships and asking them!

koojo 11-19-2008 11:05 PM

I was actually shopping around for a 2007-2008 used 350z roadster, but the 370z will be a better buy, so I'm willing to wait for a coupe. I'm excited about this now!

Smart choice sir!
Seems like many people who were going to buy the 07-08 Z are getting the 370z.

Admiral Nissan next to my home absolutely sucks. They ARE really bad. I recently went to turnersville Auto Plaza and seems like Turnersville Nissan was pretty cool. They had a lot of cars and seemed like you can get a good deal there. There are also Pine Belt Nissan and up North, you got Nissan of Red Bank.

davidgaddy 11-21-2008 05:33 AM

Greenville Nissan in Greenville NC man I cannot wait

dutty370Z 11-21-2008 04:53 PM

Just came from the Nissan dealership. Dude said the first 370z's should be on show room floors some time in March.

Thats the same thing mine said, but they dont have the slightest clue about anything. The dealer that I go to, SUCKS but at least they get a lot of cars first.

I was told I can put $1,000 down and get on the top of the list for the first cars arriving. I may just do that this week. I want to know what other models/trims are coming out before hand though, I guess that will get me first choice on whatever I want.

Wtf bro?!
Thats ****** up...
I can't believe they are making you put down 1,000 just to be on the top list...Sounds like he/she wants to make some cash. They should just do it for you out of service...

Yeah I would be very cautious about any salesperson who asks you to put "money down to be on the top of the list". Sounds like utter BS to me. Unless he gave me something in writing, on the dealers letter head, that showed where my $1,000 would be going once I'm on the top of that list.

And our sales people here suck too, they don't know sh!t. its like they just woke up one morning and decided to try and sell cars. I asked one of em to compare the 350z we were test driving to a s2000, he asked me who makes those? wtf!

My dealership have no clue 370Z is unveiled already and they told me it'll be here toward the end of next year :icon14: . I seriously hanged up my phone. I couldn't keep the conversation going :shakes head:

I have experienced the exact same thing here. The local dealership actually thought I was BSing them about the 370Z coming out in January. They said they had heard rumors but didn't expect it until atleast March or April at the earliest.

CrownR426 11-23-2008 01:40 AM

WTF!
So we can't get it january?!

Dealers rarely know whats going on. I take their info and advice with a huge grain of salt.

nogoodname 11-23-2008 02:56 PM

Dealers are the last ones to find out what's going on and when they do realize what's happening, it is like a day before release

dave 11-24-2008 04:50 PM

i worked in the cars business for years and unless you where into cars you rarely got support from the manufacters or the dealer on info on up and coming cars. sometimes there would a be flyer on new cars but thats it. we would see the cars come in on trucks then learn about them that week.

True. Dealers are annoying. They never have correct info. I remember not too long ago, where a Nissan dealer try to sell a regular Enthusiast model as a "special edition" performance model. They make up crap to sell a car. :shakes head:

That's why we have these forums to help!
I hope the day we all go to buy the cars, we own the dealership and get sweetass deals!

RCZ 11-25-2008 07:14 PM

Well, I just swung by the dealer a few hours ago and talked to the manager. He said that Nissan first told them March release, this was about a month ago. Then they started pushing it back to April and there were even some talks of May. But, here are the good news people. As of this week, Nissan announced a January release with a possibility of early February.

Secondly, I asked about putting some money down to get in front of the line for buying and he said OK, that would be fine. I then told him I was very good friends with someone who bought 6 of the 12 GT-R's they got and gave him my card and all of the sudden the BS stopped and he just told me that he would give me a call as soon as he heard one was coming in so I could go look at it in the warehouse before anyone else.

So January boys and girls.

Yeah, I knew whats on Nissan's site too, but if you've been following what everyone's been saying about what dealers are telling them both on this and other forums, as well as to some magazines and e-zines, you might be a little concerned that Nissan may have overstated the proximity of their release date. After all, why tell dealers they are going to be getting the new z 3 months later than they are actually?

So we didn't really know it was January, lots of people had serious doubts including me.

Also, we now know that they are shooting for a late jan early feb release. I'll take the congrats though for my heroic feat of going to a dealer and asking.

G in ny 11-25-2008 08:48 PM

lol nicee, I wish it came out already im mad hyped about it. I went to the dealer 2 weeks ago they dont know ****. lol I hate the dealers. Im more concerned on how there going to work on the differnt packages the car comes with and if there going to mess around with the price.

chinny 11-25-2008 09:03 PM

What dealer did you go to man ?

Good info and I DO give you props for going to your dealership. I'm scared of them. I'm scared to go there, ask questions or even get something fixed for my Z.

The Z is coming out in January. If any delays, maybe February the latest. :driving:

I am certain, Dealers are quite aware of the fact that the 370z is coming out soon. The reason they are playing "dumb" is the fact that they now have a "lame duck" model on their lots right now with the 350z.

They still have to sell through all of their 350z stock before they want to hype up the new model. A customer looking for a new car will probably not want the "old" model if a new shiny better version is right around the corner. So rather than losing a potential sale or having to sell a car on their lot for much cheaper than msrp they just play "dumb."

That's my story... and I am sticking to it. :)
