370Z One of the Most Expensive to Insure
The 370Z is number 15 on the list of the most expensive vehicles to insure (there is the caveat that vehicles over $80,000 are not included in this list).
Here's the list: InsWeb's 2010 List of the Least and Most Expensive Vehicles to Insure I chose this forum to post this information as part of the price of owning, and leasing a 370Z is its insurance cost.

Seeing that there is about one wrecked Z post every two weeks on this forum, it does not surprise me. People, drive more carefully please! I don't want my insurance going up.

The top of the insurance lists are dominated by sports and muscle cars, no big surprise. The cars get pushed harder, crashed more frequently, and parts cost more to replace.
If you're on the insurance companies safe driver list then it doesn't cost much more. Heck my 370Z only costs $100 more a year to insure than my Chevy 2500HD truck.

When I first bought my Z my rates were very low, but as more and more people started wrecking them I kept getting "vehicle risk adjustments" and my rates ended up about $20/month higher than where they started.
The funny thing is, according to that list, I should be paying more for my Mustang than my Z, yet I'm paying less!

It was the same when the Z first came out, they only had the 350z to base data on but technically it was a 'new' car so they had to start over so rates dropped a bit.

oh i didn't mean it was ugly, i meant like 'what is it under the hood that makes it so dangerous, because on its surface its a 300hp v6 crossover, which isn't very menacing' i mean, does it not have brakes or something?
