The Cayman and Corvette are completely different animals. But both are in a different price range. The Z is a great car for roughly $30k.

The Corvette is, but the Cayman? The 370Z is an upgrade over it IMHO.

You won't be paying $30k for a cayman or vette new. Also need to consider upkeep with insurance and maintanance.

Sounds like a very good price, although slightly used touring or sports can be found for that price if you want the options.

Yea I guess I was lucky when I found a 2009 leftover that found its way to a Lamborghini/Lotus dealer in Chicago. I paid 29K with 350 miles.

The Cayman is considerably more expensive, but most comparisons rate it a better driver's car. I just find it hard to justify the Porsche tax on everything, plus I didn't need another car I had to take out of town for service

C6 and Cayman are exceptional cars. Not the same price point as the Z. The Z is a great deal for the price point, so is the C6 and Cayman S w/ PDK. Forget magazine reviews and stats, go drive and you will know. The Cayman has exceptional balance and is super confidence inspiring to drive. It is the easiest of the 3 to drive fast on unfamiliar roads. Expensive but worth every penny if you have the coin to spend. C6 has the largest performance envelope but takes time to get used to and gain confidence in. The C6 is the least confidence inspiring to drive at first. At the same time the C6 is probably the best performance "deal" of the 3, near super car performance for around $45K. At around $30K-$35K the Z is exceptional. The new Mustang or Camaro are probably closer competitors. All are exceptional and super fun for their price points.

You may be disappointed in the Z's performance compared to the two other cars, but definitely not in money saved. While the Cayman's performance was eye-watering, so is the P-car tax. Same with the C6 - just sit it in and press the throttle down.

But if you've got enough dough to plunk down cash on the Porsche or 'Vette (GREAT cars!) - you're gonna love it.
