Buying a Used 2009 6MT

I found a Black on Black 6MT Touring + Sport. Clean CarFax record. Got 21k miles on it for ~27-28k. Does that sound like a good deal?

I'm going to check it out this weekend. J/w, is there any negatives in buying a 2009 since it's the 1st year model? I've heard horror stories about the 2003 350Zs and my cousin got one too and his motor got bad oil consumption issues + tranny grinding. So far, I haven't read anything about 2009s having any serious issues.

My original plan is to wait a year and buy a Black on Orange 6MT Touring Sport, but this one Z i found sounds like a steal. Just looking for some inputs b4 I jump the gun :S

That's pretty fair. Just have it checked out by a professional just to make sure they don't catch anything that you'd miss.

Should be no real issues to worry about. Listen for ECU whine in the cockpit, some of the 2009s had it. You still have a fair amount of warranty left so you should be straight.

On some of the '09s the ECU emits a high-pitched whine that can usually be heard by younger ears. There are a few extensive threads on it if you want to search. Seems like the fix is replacing the ECU with one of the 2010 models.

Oh yea, I forgot to add, this is a Certified Used at a Nissan Dealer. So it be a good price? Also the internet price is 27-28k and I'm not really sure how much room I got for bargaining as well.

CARFAX Vehicle History Report on JN1AZ44E99M405953 CARFAX of the car for more info.

Just get a new 2010 base with sport. Same ballpark for price.

Trying again with touring ;)

I think 27K is good. You can get a 2010 for around $33,500 with normal options from Lou, I think.

Some 2009 models had serious oil consumption problems, I'd check the service records for oil changes. One advantage of buying a used 2009 is you probably don't have to worry about that - it would have happened already if it was a problem.

Some also have some oil heating problems, but mine never gets to 200, so not sure why that is different, but you may want to try a longer test drive.

I took care of any other worries by having the dealer throw in a 7/70 extended warranty.

Lol I was thinking about Base, but I want the Touring for the Leather / Alcantara. Also that display for what gear you are in is pretty neat too for the 6MT. And this car does come with the 7yr 100k miles warranty since it is certified used.

I've never bought a used car before and based on the internet pricing, what price should I start the offer at? The Internet Price is $27,991. I don't really think there is anything wrong with the car since this dealer also has the exact same thing but in Blue with a little less miles on it for a little bit more. But I'm gonna go check this out this Friday.

Thats not too shabby. I paid $25900 for a used 2009 Base+Sport with 16k miles a few months ago.

Lol apparently I looked at the page again today and price went down another 1k. So it's 26-27k now sticker. *_* !

That's pretty good. For what it's worth, I was given $26k when I traded my 2009 sport/touring with 27k miles, so you figure the retail price on that car would likely be around 27k.
