If anything, I am actually happier I got the base because of what antennahead mentioned... the OEM head unit in the base model is just a basic double din so you can replace it super easy which I plan to do shortly. I'm going to be throwing an in-dash nav/vid/audio HU in there which should fix everything I miss from the touring.
Bingo, for less money you'll have a kickin' system with nav! Add the price of the Nissan Nav to the touring, and it really sky rockets.

Put a deposit down on a black base sport 7AT yesterday. I was talking with the dealer about this EXACT topic. He hadn't noticed that the premium stereo on the Touring was integrated, while the base HU was in a very convenient double din opening, just asking to be removed. The only question now is whether to put a Nav/stereo in the DD opening and leave the storage box above alone, or put a Nav in the storage box above and a dedicated stero in the DD opening. Hopefully getting the steering controls to work with the aftermarket unit(s) won't be a pita.

Touring is more for people who either want more comfort, options and or accessories or for those who don't want to go thru the trouble of adding or replacing parts with aftermarket components.

I respectfully disagree. Maybe I am in the minority here but I ordered a touring w/ all options for the convenience. And, I also own a luxury vehicle.
