In Quebec we pay the 5% fed tax and 7.5%(provincial) on the total amount including the fed tax
So it's kinda like tax on tax.

That sucks. There are some benefits from living in Alberta.

It was pretty close to $2500 off from the total price. Let me know if you wanna know anything else.

interesting..

do you think you could have gotten more $$$$ off? That discount you got is based on that specific model. Im just looking to get into the base. so im wondering if ill be able to get that kind of discount with a less expensive model. These things have to carry at least $3000 gross (canadian). i know the US numbers from this thread but i also know its different from us to canadian.

I hate to burst your bubble but if you paid $50K total including everything, I don't think that's $2,500 off...more like $700. Although that's about $200 better than I got and I think you still did fine from what I have seen and heard so far. If I am missing something, let me know.

39,998 base MSRP
2,500 nav
4,000 sport
135 paint
1,500 freight and PDI
-------
48,133 price before misc fees and GST (per website)
150 air and tire tax (estimate but those are added in here)
------
48,283
2,414 GST @ 5%
-------
50,697

I took the pricing right off the website as well. I think that I forgot to mention that I ordered a 7 speed, which adds about $1500 I think. Here is the pricing I got off the website:

Base MSRP* $41,498.00
Options $6,635.00
Freight and PDE $1,500.00
Total* (Before Taxes) $49,633.00

$49,633 + 5% GST = $52114.65

Sorry about the confusion. I guess I saved $2114.65.

Canada is only going to be getting the Touring model so I could not even consider the cheaper base model. I don't think I could have gotten anymore off than. If you convert that into US dollars it works out to $39,197.24
