I decided it was likely best to wait a couple years, and used my would be down payment to buy a pristine 03 350z with low miles that feels brand new... hopefully it was a wise decision :).

If I apply and approved for Penfed 3.99 APR but decided to buy the car in next 2 months, am I still approved by then or the deal is canceled??

AAA Auto Loans

FYI, AAA is currently offering 3.49% auto loans on new or used 2009 and 2010 models, you can even refinance your existing loan.

The actual loan is underwritten by a credit union and will vary by location, but AAA acts as the broker and collects and processes all the paperwork.

Low Auto Loan Rates
for AAA Members

If you're not a member I think it costs you $52 for the year plus a $17 sign up fee.

Your check or approval should be good for 90 days. Give them a call to make sure.

Soygen 02-11-2010 05:59 PM

Yeah, it's 90 days. I just talked to them a few days ago. However, the APR is what it is at the time you cash that check. So if they change their rates(which haven't changed since AK made this thread by the way), it will be the current rate whenever you finally find and buy the car.

I just setup an account with them and applied for the loan, so I'm in that 24 check period. Once I know their final numbers, I'll call the dealership back and let them know... See if they can beat $510/mo.

Is that because they aren't really selling that great based on the economy?

FuszNissan 03-09-2010 10:31 AM

Nope. I can't give you all my secrets, just follow my plan.

xTIMMYxCOREx 03-15-2010 05:56 PM

So with the offer made by the original poster, did he NOT pay the $720 Destination? What about all the charges like documentation fees?

theDreamer 03-15-2010 06:11 PM

You must pay the destination fee.
Documentation fees vary from dealership, I paid 50, anything over 100 and they are trying to just screw you.
