Why do you need touring? Is it because you want the nav? If that's the case, you can get an aftermarket stereo system (like the Kenwood DNX6160 ~$750) that has bluetooth and nav which would save you thousands of dollars off the touring. Financing 30k is a big deal, so anyway you can cut that down to a more reasonable number is better.

As for your credit, it may not be quite as high as you think. The Vantage score goes up to 990 instead of 850 like the FICO score. I believe I had a score of like 839 when I did the vantage score one time and my FICO was 740. This means you are probably outside of the prime rates and are looking more around the 6-8% range depending on where you get your financing from, which once again means big bucks if you are financing 30k.

As far as insurance goes, there are really too many variables to even give you an idea of what it would be like. I pay 625/6months, but your best bet is to call your insurance company and get a quote.

You can do whatever you want to do, but my honest recommendation is to wait a few months to see how the job goes, to save more money for a down payment, and to build more credit. Also, think about a base model with aftermarket nav and bluetooth which will save you a ton of money or look at an 09 model. Good Luck!

There's so much good advice in this post... it's worth quoting.

To the OP, congrats on landing a good job in a crap market. But beware spending this kind of money right out of the gate. One thing I always like to tell the young'ns when they're thinking of buying an expensive car; remember that you will want to invest in a home sometime soon. Granted, you're not going to make 48k forever, but when purchasing a home, you must consider things like DTI, and keeping your FICO in good standing. Of course, I'm a financially conservative being, and you're going to do what you want in the end, but do you really wanna be that guy with the nicest car in the apartment complex??
