Buying my 370 in a week or so...
and I need some help with the pricing!
I am looking to get the base 370z with Aerodynamics package that is already on a lot near me. I will be making a 5,000 down payment at the time of purchase and was wondering what price I should expect to pay before TTL. The lowest quote that I have so far is 33.5k, but that seems a little steep after seeing the invoice pricing for the vehicle. Thanks for any insight. |

Quote:
Base Model 6 speed manual Invoice - $28,043 K96 - Aerodynamics Package Invoice $498 and destination which is approx. $695 Your total before tax and title should be = $29236.(invoice). With a quote of 33.5K, I am assuming it's a touring model or you dealership is marking it up.

Go in and offer invoice or a couple hundred bucks above.

they offered it to me at invoice. That price is actually pretty competitive. Keep in mind this is with TTL, and the breakdown would be as follows:
Total cost for car (base/sport/kick plates/splash guards/7AT/mats: invoice: $32263.76 Tax (CA 7.75%): $2554 Delivery: $695 License/Title $303 total: $35816 I am definitely checking around here to see if anyone else can match. So far there has been one match in San Diego, but I will see if anyone can go even lower. |

I'm ordering mine for invoice tomorrow. You should do what I did. Gather all the information about the stuff you want included. That includes pricing (invoice and MSRP) for the vehicle and all the packages you want. Then add up the totals and start shopping around and see who gives you the best offer.
To give you an example, you should take a look at my thread and see how I did it. Best of luck. |

Be patient when negotiating because the dealership is in business to take your money. They will do anything they can to make you think that the deal sitting before you is the only one that you can take. All you have to say at that point is that they have your business if they give you the price you want. If they are not willing to bend, then simply get up and walk out.
I've played hard ball with dealerships before. Some have even called me before I drove 100 yards down the street because they wanted to make that sale AFTER realizing that their tactics were not working. So to sum it all up, you just have to know what you want and stick with it. Also keep in mind that the economy isn't all that great and you may have to remind them of that by saying that someone out there will work with you. Finally, look up invoice pricing on Edmunds.com for the 370Z, add everything up, then go to the dealership armed with that information. Again, walk out if they give you crap. |

Yeah, I thought that the 33k seemed a little high. This is actually my first upgrade since I started driving 6 years ago at age 16 so this whole "haggling" process is new to me.
Thank you guys for all of your input so far! |

I ordered mine at $300 over invoice. I went through a few dealers until one dealer offered me $300 over invoice without any haggling. I went to the dealer and put a deposit down last weekend.

You and I will be driving the same spec car soon. I too am getting a fully loaded white/persimmon for $200 over invoice. Will be putting a down payment and ordering mine this weekend hopefully. It's going to take 90 days. The wait will be unbearable.

I think you've already shopped for the spec'ed car you want, but my father always try's to buy the car on the lot they want to sell. This takes many forms, sometimes it's the really odd combination of extras or one that has sat on the lot for a while. For instance, my mothers T-Bird was that aqua color, that no one wanted unless they owned/wanted to own one of the originals. Our Jeep Commander came with the smallest engine.
Nissan's inventory checker can help you with this. See if a car of your preferred model/extras hangs around for a while, then try and buy that one. It will have higher mileage, but the dealer wants to sell cars that have been on the lot the longest. Then again, in this economy, you probably don't need to do any this because cars just need to be sold. But the economy will change eventually |

I went with another dealer and got my base w/sports package 7AT for 500 under invoice. he also threw in free splash guards and kick plates. itll be about 34000, give or take a hundred out the door.
I shopped around for almost 3 weeks, and hit up over 30 dealers for quotes. Of course, murphys law dictated that the very last one I visited was the one who gave me the best deal...They were so new the ordering system wasnt even installed yet! PM me for info. They are in Orange County. |
