Quotes from some dealerships

Finally got around to talking to a few dealerships and have some questions. Quotes from dealerships:
1) 2009 370Z TOURING COUPE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION, FLOOR MATS, SPORT PACKAGE, AND TRUNK MAT YOU INQUIRED ABOUT WILL BE 36,370 + TTL
2) 2009 370Z TOURING COUPE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION, FLOOR MATS, SPORT PACKAGE, TRUNK MAT, AND Wheel locks YOU INQUIRED ABOUT WILL BE 35,995.00 + TTL
3) I can offer you 500 over my cost on in stock model or order units

Questions:
~Wheel locks, needed?
~Offer three has me confused, is he referring to invoice price that is on this forum or do they have another price?
~Any thoughts on these prices, should I hold out or work on them?

Thanks.

Wheel locks are not needed, however it is nice to have if you're in a bad part of town but even then OEM wheel locks are very common, and are easy to remove...

Offer three is saying his invoice + $500 is what he can do for you
They seem on the dot, the most common price I've seen is invoice + $300, not including TTL.

There is a thread of all the invoice prices, you should add up all the options you want and add them all together to see if it matches what your dealer invoice is.

Which do you prefer, wheel locks, or cinder blocks and bricks?

C'mon you're from California!!! You should know that even with wheel locks, if they really want them your beloved ride would end up on blocks. Best deterrence for thieves is a garage and full coverage insurance. No lock or device is 100% theft proof no matter what the advertising says. It might sound far fetched but I once had a friend who had a 9 sec STI stolen from his home in the middle of the night. It was a gated home and in a locked garage... luckily 3 weeks later they found the frame dumped somewhere in the ghettos and said it was a total loss.

I believe Mike in RWC probably has some of the best deals around, he is very quick with his response via email and phone calls, should give him a call and or email him.

The 37,999 price is about the same as my offers just minus the nav system, which I have been keeping out since I do not think I need or want it. Thanks for all the input.

If they want it, they will get it, it is only a time deterrent!
I would prefer not to tell a cop, taking my theft report, "No I didn't have wheel locks!"
Plus you may get a reduced rate(it's small)on your insurance.

None yet, sent emails to Baker-Jackson, Mossy, and Tom Peacock. Was testing the waters to see what things look like; hoping to test drive one tonight but I need to pick a place.

Garlyn Shelton in Temple is a good one. I am getting a red base 370z, 6MT, w/ sport package, illuminated kick plates, carpeted floor and trunk mats, with splash guards for $31,800.

Have not thought about going outside of Houston, I do drive to Austin once a month (or more) already.

Quick question for anyone:
~Car on the lot has what I want (Base with sport, blue, auto), but has 60 miles on it. Would you order one or take the one off the lot? I would receive mine in June if I ordered. Also, both are the same price.

streetrod 02-23-2009 04:55 PM

If I lived in Texas, I would take the on off the lot if it were exactly what I wanted and showroom new. If I lived in Minnesota, I might wait........snow may have melted by then! :shakes head:
