The rest of Europe (including Austria) drive on the right, like you guys, so a Japanese set-up would be no good for him. I remember in the 60's, Sweden decided to change from driving on the left to driving on the right - and they did it overnight!!! In England quite a few people import cars from Japan, they are then set up to meet the UK legal requirements and the buyer normally saves himself a bit of money.
