VPP 4.3% Off Invoice plus additional $1,000 off?
This sounds crazy, but I have been getting missed calls from an "unknown number", then today I finally answered the call. Turns out it was someone from Nissan VPP department asking if I used the claim number yet. She said if not, Nissan VPP is taking off an additional $1,000 off on top of the VPP pricing. Can anyone confirm this? Crazy deals are to be had if this is true!

What were the details from the Nissan VPP rep? I am also in the market for a 370z under the VPP and have gotten several missed calls from an "unknown number." Should have answered .

As did I. I picked up thinking I was going to tell them to put me on the do not call list, when I found out it was a guy from Nissan. He said he was giving me a new VPP claim number, but I later checked the it and it was the same I have gotten through Robert. The cool thing is the guy set me up an appointment with a local dealer who supposedly is going to search other dealers in the area for the model I want. I'm going in tomorrow morning and will post to let you know if this was legit or not.

VPP lady said $1,000 off on top of the VPP price, and it would be the same claim number that I have received. She said it had to be used by the end of the month. I told her OK sounds good. Then the fishy part was when she tried to enroll me in some "VIP Program", that's when I told her no thanks then ended the call. I wanted to call VPP 1-800 number to confirm the incentive but they are closed til Monday.

I should also mention that every dealer was given a certain amount to claim. So some dealers may already be out of the 1000.00 certificates.
Who knows. Toyota had so many recalls that they needed to stimulate their own business, and therefore came out with big incentives and rebates. Well in turn the competition needs to stay competitive so they are matching a lot of what Toyota is doing, so now is the time to buy. For the Z directly, I doubt you will see a rebate. |

Well I asked fuss to run a vpp price check and his price didn't reflect the additional $1,000 off. I also called a dealer to check on a price on a particular car I was interested and no discount there either. Robert Nash who works for Nissan Corp said he wasn't aware off any additional cash back. So, that makes me believe it was some kind of telemarketing scheme from Nissan.

Unfortunately, I didn't even have a chance to try and use the VPP because no one could find the model I wanted (MT coupe w/touring, sport and nav). Everyone told me I'd have to order and wait up to 3 months. I went to no less than 5 nissan dealers, and they didn't even have models to test drive. There is a severe shortage of 2010 coupes in the NE.
Oh, one more thing, Nissan set me up an appointment with some guy named "Rick" who would be at the first dealership I went to, and was supposed to have searched the entire area for the model I wanted before I even showed up. When I got there and asked for him, they all had puzzled looks on their faces and of course, no vehicle model search was done. Kinda dissappointed by how this was handled by Nissan, as it was a beautiful day and was wasted hunting down a car that doesn't exist. Last edited by BalanBro; 03-22-2010 at 12:02 AM. |
