Default VIN JN1AZ44E09M402164 beware

This was the VIN on the Black base with Sport Package that I was supposed to take delivery of last week from Tischer Nissan in Laurel, MD. Upon inspection the passenger side rear quarter panel had a significant number of paint defects, thru to the clearcoat...and not small spots either. Someone had apparently tried to wetsand it or something but it looked ridiculous. Bunch of gray marks on a black car.

Anyway, I rejected the car, regardless of how good they could make it look, due to diminished value and potential long term clearcoat failure. Figured I'd post the VIN to try and protect anyone trying to buy it... JN1AZ44E09M402164.

Update as of 4.29.09

VIN: JN1AZ44E49M401275 : This car was crashed by one of our forum member.. It was totaled. Then, we saw the car pop up on ebay for sale. With the modern technology, I'm sure someone WILL fix this car and try to sell it on the market (since it has only 315 miles and interior is intact) . So, be careful buying a slightly used Chicane Yellow. Check the VIN.

VIN: JN1AZ44E39M401249 Check out the thread here: VIN JN1AZ44E39M401249 - Be Aware. Not a huge issue. A fellow forum member is just looking out for a potential buyer. Not sure if the power windows module or any other electrical items by the door were affected.

I wonder what happened... Is it just a blemish or accident related?

I wonder if that was the one they had over @ Sheehy Nissan in Waldorf? Did you have your dealer locate it for you? 'cause that one was the only black base / w sport that I saw around, and now it is gone from their inventory! I was going to buy it next week, (if it was still around). Wondering if it is the same car you are talking about?

I want to know, just in case it shows back up on their lot, so thanks for posting the VIN.

Much appreciated. That is exactly what I am looking for and no dealer can seem to find one. It would be just my luck to buy this one and never notice the damage.

They said they managed to find one that wasn't allocated yet. My understanding was that it was still at one of the dock ports and hadn't been assigned to a dealership yet. I believe they were trying to get me the one in Waldorf as well but that was sold....but definitely compare the VIN if you end up finding one somewhere.

I did pick up my new baby last night from VOB. Decided on yellow and although every cop in a 20 mile radius can spot me coming, I love it! VOB was great to work with and I highly recommend Danni Williams...tell her the girl with the yellow one sent ya

Good to see a girl who appreciates the new 370Z. Why not make your own thread in the "new 370Z owner" section with pictures of your Chicane Yellow 370Z. We are glad to have you here.

Thanks! I've never been on a forum with rep points before...that's cooool.

I originally ordered a Black base with sport package and some of the random crap like floormats, splash guards, illuminate kick plates, trunk mat. I autox so I didn't want the touring model. I ended up with a yellow with sport package, floormats, splash guards...and the trunk mat (I think). They didn't have any with the kick plates but I can always add that later I suppose if I want to.

I did put down $500 on the defective one...and they did give it back to me without any issue. You would've heard about it on the news if they hadn't, lol
