Depends where you live. All of the Seasonal States don't have a single 2010. My first one just showed up yesterday. My next one won't show up until mid May. So there is still some waiting. If you can get a great deal on a 2009 why not do it, not like the 2010 has anything better to offer.

to answer your question, i bought 2010 in the beginning of this year for $600 under invoice.....

there are a ton of new '09 models here local to me (cincinnati) and no '10 models. i had to drive 2 hours to find a 2010 6MT w/ sport package...

Ok I am looking at a leftover 09 -- car has a touring sport with splash guards and carpeted mats: MSRP: $38,490.00 Invoice based on me doing the math INCLUDING DEST: $35,495

What should I get the car for?

Is $2k under invoice good? $3k? Where should I ideally want to be?

******the prices on nissanusa.com - they include dest right?) **********

Go here - grab my spreadsheet and play with it a bit.

If you are talking a Touring 6MT with Sport, Splash, and Mats then I think invoice would be around $35k - contact Robert for you VPP Claim Number and you can probably get things down to about $33.5k - up to you if you want to forego the VPP and just haggle - I'd be surprised if you could find a dealer willing to sell that fairly loaded '09 for $32k at this point - if you do, ping me back with the other cars he has in stock so I can get in on that deal. :)

Just left. I didn't use VPP I just haggled. I kept quiet with my knowledge.. They 1st said we can do it a little above invoice. I laughed. Then we were at invoice for a while. Then we got to $1000 UNDER invoice, then we got to $1500 under invoice. I said read my LIPS $2500 under INVOICE! The GM of the dealership came out and then went back upstairs.. after waiting 20 more minutes of sitting there - I got my $2500 under.

MSRP on car is $38490. Invoice is $35510

THEY WILL SELL IT TO ME FOR $33,010.00

The car is a 6MT Touring Sport

All I have to pay is a $299 doc fee + $5 online reg fee + tax obviously.

Once the deal is finalized - I will post up dealer information.

It took me 3hrs 40 minutes to get from couple hundred over INVOICE to $2500 under invoice.

Think I could of got $3000 anyone? I won't go in there fighting for another $500. If I do the deal, $2500 under invoice sounds fine for a 6mt touring sport, no?

Anyways I have a little time, since I have someone taking my old car next week. I am still torn between an 08 Corvette C6 6mt or the 09 370z 6mt . ugh

All that seems reasonable - excellent deal on an '09!!!! Maybe you should go back in and tell them you are leaning more toward an '08 Vette and see if they'll get down to $32k. :) Good luck with your decision.

Good price. Go for the brand new Z I say. Vette's all look the same. This is going to be your daily driver?

BTW I'm in central NJ too. I ended up getting mine out of state because there weren't any PG 6M +Sport, mats and splashguards. The dealer brought out his binder of all invoices and it was all out on the table. 5 min negotiation and I settled at $1,500 below invoice. I even snapped a pic of my invoice :icon17:

There is such a big gap in price between options that base models are probably not going to get that much.

Just took delivery on 2009 Base/Auto/Sport for $30,000 + TTL, about $2,800 below invoice.
