the way im looking at it was I got the touring model AT at invoice with the options for free. Im basing this all off this thread:

2009 / 2010 Nissan 370z invoice Price

Anyway I hardly did any haggling what so ever so I probably could have gotten the price down some more if I really wanted but it felt like a good deal regardless. I got it from Bob Bell on the eastern side of baltimore. Corey Davis is their internet manager who I worked with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a z in the Baltimore area. Now it just needs to stop raining so I can go for a ride in my new car!

At $1800 off without any money in the deal from Nissan, a dealer would be giving up nearly his entire holdback, I'd think. They will not do it. Not only would they be losing potential profit on the deal, they'd essentially be putting their own money, in the form of their quarterly reimbursement for holdback, into the deal. That's how you close the doors of a dealership.

I suspect the dealer offering $1800 back of invoice is ready to rape you on your trade, financing rate, extended warranty or something else.
I got my 2009 base automatic in November for $29,000 including a few extra trinkets. Only tax and title ($85.00 for title) were extra. Cash deal and no trade, so the dealer made nothing on those items. I figured $29,000 to be significantly under invoice---may $500 under. How close am I on that?

They said Nissan is having a Corp promotion, it's not publicly announced yet, but the general manager is giving me $1800 off the invoice on all 09 370Zs. This is not a typo.

Two of their 09 Zs are blue. One silver. Not my colors, otherwise i would have bought one.
They told me the same, but for LEASES only. This was Larsan Nissan in Fife, WA.

Well, I don't pretend to know all there is to know about selling new cars but from my standpoint, the buyer, I'm damned if I'd buy an '09 for $500 below invoice when I can buy a '10 for right at invoice (or even a hundred or so below it). I don't care if the mileage and usage are equal, the depreciation in value is my concern. (Plus the few extras in the '10 that the '09 doesn't have)

If someone were going to interest me in a "year-old Z", it would have to be a carrot of around $1500-$2000 because that's the hit I'm going to take for it being a year old.
