Default Negotiating a price for a lease - same as for buying?

Without arguing the merits and/or downfalls of financing vs lease, is the negotiation of price done prior to even saying whether you're going to lease or buy? I've only ever bought a car, but I'm planning on leasing the a 2010 370z come this February. Looking for some advice from those in the car business or with experiencing leasing.

Thanks in advance!

how many miles are you planning to drive it?
Leases do require down payment as well, or can be factored in your monthly payment.
I leased my Honda s2000, before buying it. Probably not the best thing to do... But my wife ended up liking it too much.

In my opinion this car is not worth leasing. Better to just buy it used with a little miles on it. Or buy the 2009`s that have alot of discounts. Leasing also requires a very high credit score, which if u do its better to finance at 3.99% or atleast 4.89% which is the lowest nissan finance can go. I went with Chase with offered 4.09% for 72 months and slightly lower for 60 months.

Good Luck - but i do not recommend leasing.

Thanks for the response, but again, I'm not asking if buying is better than leasing. I'm simply asking if you negotiate the price first, then inform the seller that you intend to lease or if leasing carries it's own "price" for the car.

Let them know you are leasing, but also want to see a certain selling price. On some cars we have different incentives available, so i may be able to show a lower price for a finance versus a lease or vice versa.

The issue with a lease on a Z is that the money factors are high and the residuals are low, unless you can write it off through business, your better off to purchase at this time.

I know it's beating a dead horse but I will NEVER understand why anyone would lease a Z
