He is an exporter and buys and sells cars in the black market overseas.

Remember a few years ago. Guy wrecks an Enzo in Malibu canyon, car basically gets cut in half but car has no paperwork? turns out the guy lives in a Multi Million $ house and had a few other Super Exotic rides. They pull his wife over in Hollywood area and snatch her McLauren (I think that's what it was).

He was some European guy, big mystery at the time.

End result... He was Buying Cars in Europe, financing them and putting them in containers bringing them to the States but reporting them stolen back home or simply not making payments.

Not to sound like a Paranoid freak but personally the whole ordeal seemed like BS. That guy was doing something a little more in depth then smuggling in stolen cars. Sounds like a plot like that movie SWORDFISH, whole thing was really weird but who knows...

I was victim to something like this back in 2000. Bought my first MV Agusta back before people knew what they were. Turned out the bike was brought in Grey Market, couldnt register it and had numerous letters telling me it that I needed to turn it in. Screw that! Ended up selling it to a Collector in AZ.

At least this thread is a little interesting now

bad for you. well the way I do it is . I buy the cars from overseas pay them with cash bank transfered. ship the car to the shipping lines ask them (the dealership) to clear some export papers then ask the shipping lines to deliver the car here at my country via container boats. I don't wanna get on trouble on some oversea country it creeps me. :shakes head:

btw here nissan dealers don't sell gtrs or 370z so the only way to get it is import my own.

FuszNissan 12-23-2009 10:16 AM

MV's are so bad azz

motoextreme 12-23-2009 10:21 AM

Big Time!

I've had 3 of them. Real b$%ch to get parts for. My 2002 had a CAM issue, damn thing sat at the dealer for 3 months. Never did get that CAM replaced so I sent it out, had them fix the lobes and switched out the springs myself. Ended up being a pretty damn fast bike!

That New One is crazy fast...too bad they lost their exclusivity and the design is becoming a little dated. Same bike since 2000 just different paint and motors, time for a new design MV!

Off topic a bit...sorry Mr Gray Market...good luck in Mystery Land, GTR's are bad *** so no matter where you are you'll love it I'm sure. Sure hope you don't need warranty work though. :ugh2:

phelan 12-23-2009 10:25 AM

everywhere else has gray markets, and over here we can't even keep gray marketed skylines. they're seizing the cars...f*ck.

Mysterious. Secret. Arcane. Surreptitious. Esoteric. Hidden, Cryptic. Gnostic. Furtive. Mystical. Hermetic. Occult...Something like that.
