I have a car (2006 GTi) coming off lease in March. I'm wondering if I would be better off buying a car now or waiting until Feb/March. I know the situation with the Sales tax tax deduction and that would make the last two payments on my lease a wash.
I'm figuring that the dealer would be more willing to deal on a 2009 now than a 2010 in Feb/March. My thought is to go in and offer them about $500 under invoice and take it from there. The car I would want is not in stock at the local dealer (Red 370, manual w Sport Pkg), but according to the Nissan website there is one about 85 miles away. My starting offer on the car would be abotu $30,800. Any thoughts on how this might go over? How does the fact that the dealer would have to get a car from another dealer about 100 miles away figure into the bargaining process? Thanks for any advice you may have to offer. |
