It's a buyer's market. I would not pay more than invoice on 2009 models. Within the hour, I am going shopping for a Nismo. Will trade in the 05 ZR. Gonna shoot for OTD $38-39k.

Let me make sure I understand this phrase: "MSRP OTD".
So, this means that the stealership made the bottom line of the sales sticker = the bottom line of the total cost of purchase. In order to do this and add in tax, title, etc., the MSRP price was backed off to the tune of 2-3 thousand dollars so it would all add up to the bottom-line price on the sales sticker? You know, on the sales sticker at the dealership I went to, they had bulls--t stuff added in like over $1,100 for some paint sealant or something. And another nearly $500 for some protection package. That's just pure built-in profit. The difference between invoice and the total price on this NISMO I saw was over $6,000 !!!

In the Florida area the best price I was able to find on 2009 coupes is invoice, not a penny less. The dealers seem to agree that the 2010 roadsters are now available but the 10's coupe will not hit showrooms until next spring. From the posts here it seems like some have already received a 2010 ?? I read about some of the large discounts that bring the sale price to thousands under invoice. I can't help but wonder if these discounts are on car purchases where a trade in was part of the deal. The amount given on a trade can throw the real sales price out the window. What type of discounts are people getting on a cash purchase where no trade is included?
Any recommendations on a FL dealer who sells for under invoice? Thanks Last edited by way2fast; 12-15-2009 at 07:43 PM. |

IN case anyone from California is interested... here is a link to DMV to calculate your Tax, Title and License fee. Might be helpful knowing what the true out the door price is before you walk in. https://mv.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorW...VehicleForm.do

The blind spot and rear view mirror are terrible on this car....... But the performance and style are just irresistible. Thinking for ways to overcome the problems. Already added a convex mirror to the sides. Looking into backup camera... and maybe sensors...

I think he just means that he will offer a price that after tax and license fees equates to the MSRP. This means that the price before tax and fees would be well below MSRP. For example, lets say that you have a car with an MSRP of $34,000. Tax and license combined are 10% of the selling price. Buying the car at MSRP OTD in this case means that he paid:
$30,909 for the car and $3,091 in tax and license fees for a combined total of $34,000 or the MSRP on an OTD basis. $34,000= (1.10x) x= $30,909 Tax&Lic = $34,000 - sale price of car $30,909 or, $3,091 Last edited by davidyan; 12-22-2009 at 11:22 PM. |
