Nismo Z
I think I am about to pull the trigger on a 2016 white nismo tech. The dealer won't go any lower then $42k, is that a good deal for a brand new nismo tech? I feel like if I pay more for a nismo, it will hold its resale value better maybe. What are you guys's thoughts?

My personal question for you is what about the Nismo do you want? If it's the body kit, you can get a Sport edition and buy the kit separately. If you just want a Nismo to have a Nismo then it's your preference on what's too much.

NISMO doesn't hold its value better, it's actually worse on resale. The current iteration NISMO Techs might fare better than the old (2014 and earlier) ones but with almost any car, the more expensive it is to begin with/more options you add, the more it depreciates. See: Infiniti anything.
The 2015 comes with a lot more than a body kit that isn't really cost effective to retrofit. If you like the NISMO you don't want to get into trying to build one as a cheaper alternative because it's not. As the owner of the most recent iteration of the NISMO I definitely recommend it as a great fun car to own and it's a great overall package, right off the lot it handles great, has a more aggressive exhaust etc. and the seats are fantastic. Way better than the 2014 and earlier for anything but a dedicated track car build IMO. |

Just get what you want Colton and enjoy every seat time you get. None of our opinions matter. You're the one paying for if.

The Nismo has 3:96 gears compared to all the rest having 3:69 gears. I had a 2013 Sport and now have a 2015 Nismo. Too different cars went it comes to being on a track and looks so much more sexier..

Just be sure you want to keep the car for many years or you're putting at least 10k down because that's how much depreciation you'll have on a new NIMSO when you drive it off the lot.
Z's resale suck in general. Nismos are worse. |

Have you driven both the Nismo and the Sport? Ride quality is subjective (kinda like exhaust threads!), but the Sport is about as firm as I want to go.
I bought my 2014 Sport/Touring last summer. It was new and had been on the dealer lot for about 18 months. The 2016's were out at the time, so it was in reality 2 years old. I drove 2 states to get the deal of my 30+ years of driving...35% off MSRP.... |

I originally wanted to get a Nismo tech, but didn't really feel like paying $45k for a 370z. Instead, I got an awesome deal on a Sport Tech, for $35k out the door. I figured since I was going to replace the wheels, exhaust, intakes, suspension, etc. there was no point in getting the Nismo.
However, I did buy the front and rear bumpers from Nissan. So basically looks like a Nismo now. |

For me, I probably would have never bought a 370Z if it wasn't for the Nismo edition. In my neck of the woods, they are as rare as unicorns. When I first saw one, I knew that I had to have it. I had considered a Lotus Elise and Evora, Porsche Cayman S and BMW Z4M. The Nismo competes nicely with all these cars and at a fraction of the price. The extra 10K was definitely worth it for me.
But keep in mind that it is strictly a weekend car and is not driven daily. |
