Have you leased a 370?

I went to a nissan today looking to lease a 370. I took a black base with sport pkg out for 2 test drives, one with the sales guy and 1 with just my gf and i like the car.

The initially tried hitting me with these #'s

Buying: $34,845 with a $7500 d/p would leave my payment around $690. (That translated to about 18% interest rate. They didnt tell me what the rate was..i had to pull out my trusty iphone and my amortization table to figure it out. this is all before they even ran my credit.)

Leasing: $5500 down, and $595 mo.

I don't know what they were smoking..but atleast they were nice.

In the end they offered this for the lease: (this is all with 39mo/12k miles)

$485/mo with $2500 down
$499/mo with $2000 down
$520/mo with $1200 down

I didnt take the car cuz i wasnt there to buy..i was just starting to shop prices. I am going to lease it though.

but the reason for my post...have any other people leased?

If so, what type of terms did you get?? Do you guys think these are good prices?

best advice, i know lots of other people on this forum who pays 550+ a month just for payments itself, no lease no nothing.

dont even get me started on their insurance premiums.

i put 15k down or so myself. with an extra 5k set aside in mods which i never got around to.

i did end up purchasing this car with no lienholder....

as for me i pay 218.00 a month for 5 years. of course ill never be making the minumum 218. but its a personal secured loan at 11.25% for 10 gran not too bad; and with good money skills, can be paid off within 7 months! easy.

finally some honest feedback from a dealer

so to make sure i got this right....based on tax rate here i should push for $480/mo (tax in) with $2000 down and fees?

Would this be the best deal to take or do you think something better can be done?

Think i'd get 480 with $2k down with fees included in that 2k?

They might go a little less on an in stock car they wanna move, it's up to them. Invoice is a great deal, if you get less take it, but don't expect less!

got it. thanks for the info.

my lease is right on par with the dealers mentioned price.

3000 down, 380 a month on a base model + rear spoiler, mats, and mud flaps or w/e they are called.... that was with perfect credit, than they ran mine and it went up to 440 ... but whatever i was still happy with that price. 16,600 buyout at lease end which was suprisingly decent imo... id say in 3 years with 49k my car should still be worth about that or a little more.

thats with 39months/15k miles on a car stickered for 32k but they gave it at 300 over invoice...

Nissan Dealership in Smithtown, NY... Great People in there...

I talked to one of the guys there when I was in "just looking" and he hung out and just shot the **** with me. Very nice guy and much nicer than some of the other dealers I visited that kind of just blew me off when I asked if they had any 370z i could sit in.

not bad at all. i'm going to try another dealer or 2 to see if anyone will beat what this dealer offered or atleast let me get away with paying less of a down payment. my current car payment is 354 so i wanted to stay around 450. my ideal goal now is to see if they'll give it to me at 450mo with 2k down

Leasing a Z isn't recommended in my book. Unless you can write it off for business or you job provides you one. With that said NMAC has taken a bath over the last year with lease turn ins and the auctions have killed them. There residuals were too high, which made leasing very attractive. So due to NMAC's liquidity issues, NMAC is making leases very expensive to deter you to buy. So there money factors are high and there residuals are low. I hope that helps explain the reason why a lease isn't that great.

I tried going down the leasing path as well. Today...I still do not have a Z.
I want one so bad, but I don't like buying cars, I'd much rather lease.
The prices were similar to what you got...

MindFusion FX 11-22-2009 08:50 PM

How Come you didnt get one ? did you think they were too high?

Looking to buy from this dealer too (uncertain due to the recent scandal - did you hear? If not see my posts on it in general discussions / Google it)

Anyway, whats the money factor they are using? I spoke to them last week, he is willing to go $500 below invoice, I think I can do better at this time of the year, but my question is, don't they play around with the money factor and residuals even though you have negotiated the base price?

Its easy to know the best price while buying when we know published invoice prices. How do I do the same for leasing? Turns out I must lease due to my immigration issues.

FuszNissan 12-04-2009 09:35 AM

The money factor on a Z is .00350, this is why i don't condone it unless you can write off the lease
