Invoice Pricing?

I just don't want to be hitting my head against the wall wishing I should have held out. Anyone know how much a dealer makes under invoice?

It seems that the best deal out there right not (that I could find) is $300 over invoice and that was for a special order z. Any thoughts as to when I'll be kicking myself if I go with it and could have gotten it for less in the near future...

Just found out that the dealership I am working with was wrong and that htere is a $500 yellow charge. They said they would honor the quote. That puts the price $100 under invoice. That's my deal... I'll let you know

I had the chance to talk to an owner of a Nissan dealership and he gave me the exact "dealer cost" of my car.

I had a nice informative post on my350Z on this topic, but it seems that the thread is no longer available.

Google "dealer holdback" and you'll get an idea of how much they make when selling at invoice. I believe there are a few other factors involved, but this pretty much tells you their cost.

Per the other thread and edmunds it's 2%, but from another website, "2% of Total Invoice for holdback+ 1% of Total Invoice for floor plan allowance."

All in all, I'm perfectly content with invoice for the most part or maybe even a few hundred above especially if the finance rates are very good.

Are you picking up a 370Z MC? It could be your DD and maybe mod it with something other than Nismo if you're not a fan of their aero kits so far.

I work for a Z dealership In southwest louisiana, and the taxes are based on where you live not where you buy it from "when buying cars" if you buy merchandise over the counter you will pay the local and state taxes for that place. Your family members that dont pay taxes in oregan probably pay for them cash if you pay that way you can choose to pay sales taxes later. If you cross to another state in order to have your car legaly lincensed you must pay the sales tax of that state. So if you live in LA and buy a car here you will pay 4% state taxes, if you move to AR you will have to pay an additional 5.6% sales taxes in order to legalize your car in that state.
thats how it works

To correct..I am paying $36,900 for Yellow, Sport, Touring, AT, floor mats, illum door panels, trunk mat. MSRP is about $40,300. I have contacted over 50 dealerships just in the couthern california area and only a few offer around $400 over invoice and most are MSRP only. This price is right at invoice and maybe even a bit lower. I got lucky with the mis-quote on the $500 charge for yellow.
