But like I said, this purchase was really to get me off my butt and back to trading stocks. I don't mind paying over invoice if it motivates me to get back to work to earn the money back It sounds crazy, but it works. I'll make up the markup and then some by the end of Q1 2015. I just thought I'd share the kind of markup they tried because it's larger than any other model I've ever tried to buy there. I had assumed it was because there's no dealer incentives on these models, but maybe Sutherlin really is just a bunch of pricks? All previous purchases there have been more reasonable. |

Four tips for buying/selling:
1. Invoice pricing on brand new car, just released for a given MY = NADA yellow book; useful for trade in as well. Also look into current dealer incentives and dealer holdback (I believe 3% on Nissans?) 2. Actual (auction) value on a vehicle at least a year old (or to see depreciation from retail over the years...) = Hearst Blackbook 3. Hoping for the best defensible asking price when selling privately = Kelley Blue Book 4. MSRP = sucker price, always and forever, and anything above that is 1000 generations of raping and pillaging pricing.

All kidding aside, congrats on the car and if it motivates you to invest and make up that money, plus earn more on top of it, have at it |

[QUOTE=Kaldaien;3099815]lol, no. I'm serious though. I have a lot of investments, but I have discovered lately that I am also very lazy. I don't like that side of myself one bit, but sadly it takes losing money to motivate me to do anything.
Sorry but, I find your reasoning quite peculiar. The other thing is that, if losing money motivates you, why not just donate that money you just overpaid for your car to a worthy charity? Whatever floats your boat, congrats on the new Z

You have obviously never lived on easy street off of dividends on a few million dollars worth of investments. The sad truth is, that sort of thing makes you very lazy. Unless motivated to earn some extra income by a small loss, I find myself sitting on my *** all day.
