DRL fucntioning with headlights MOD
2 Attachment(s)
new to this forum, not sure if anyone else has posted or shared there DRL running at night with headlights on.
i would like to share the easy 20 min MOD with other 370z peeps interested. super simple and tested! i will post step by steps instructions unless this has already been covered.;) |
It's been covered before but a second (or third...) approach is always welcome. Use the search to find the other DIY(s) and see if yours is different enough that it would be useful. Maybe adding your experiences to the existing DIY(s) will be enough. Your call.
I _think_ it's been covered before but I may be thinking of retro-fitting DRL to older 370Zs. Search is your friend. |
^Yup there are 2 DIY's but like SouthArk mentioned... the more methods the better understanding people (like me) will have before tackling the DIY.
|
Lets see what your method is and we'll see if it has been covered.

i will load all my pics tonight and share the info.
basically we found the 2 main wires that suply power out of the IPDM located near the battery. unplugged from the IPDM and found an on/off ign.powered relay port and ran the wires direct. ign on= DRL on all the time. 86/87 red/beige, side by side IPDM wires out of IPDM for both DRL. splice together and then direct power to empty relay port in IPDM. DONE! pics to follow |
in the DIY
i moved all the info to the DIY forums.
hope you all can get some use out of this info! Kevin |
This way sounds way easier then the other two DIY threads here. Thank you.

is it safe? for sure! i work at a Nissan dealer (service dept) and have all the wiring info from my techs/nissan ASSIST system |
Sweet. (For both posts above).
|
Can you please link me a the forum that shows the step by step? I have my car in a body shop and them / the audio guys have no idea how to do it. I bought the 2013 and up Nissan 370Z LED Daytime Running Light Enabling Kit | iJDMTOY Car Blog For Automotive Lighting.

I wonder why they wouldn't just be on with the headlights from the factory...?
