One more thing, anyone having issues with rock chips or slight marks or scuffs on the sideskirts just from normal use on their PW Z?

Congrats on your PW '13 with persimmon interior. I was on the hunt for that option when I was shopping for the Z but there weren't any 6MT's with that interior AND all the other options I was looking for - Nav, Sport, Touring. All auto's so I picked up a PW with black interior instead. Enjoy. |

Help please! Anyone know what these marks are and how to get them off? Brand new 2013 picked up only 2 days ago...one spot on the roof, one on the door and fender. Didn't come off when I washed it thoroughly.

I get those too sometimes, don't know what it is but they fade away after a couple of days... Hopefully yours will do the same

dilluted bird poo. nothing worse than a bird with runs. If your car is polished and waxed, it would be easy to take off. that will go away with a good cleaning.

i use "meguiar's mirror glaze 9 (professional swirl remover 2.0)" to get those out. usually start with my finger to pin-point the area then buff it out

Thanks for the answers, 2 things, my car is not waxed and I don't know how to polish nor use a buffer nor do I have one. Is there anything specific that I should go and buy of some sort for a non-experienced detailer such as myself? Possibly a spray or liquid cleaner to rub on the affected areas?

If washing wont take it off nor will some quick detailer/wax cut it. Then it has etched the clear and you will have to buff it out. I would look at getting the Meguiars buffer to buff it out. It is a little cheaper compared to getting a porter cable or the like. Any dual action polisher will work. Or take it to a professional detailer to have it corrected. Good luck...I hate birds oh and wait til next Spring you will hate bee's too..they like to poop on your car as well.....I suggest next morning sit on your porch while eating a plate of scrambled eggs to show them birds you mean business!

Show, there was a thread on this forum about a month or two back. I believe the answer was that it's from bees and the pollen their carrying falls. I have a PW G35 and that yellow stain has happened to me on numerous occasions. Immediate washing/cleaning or detailing does not remove it. However in a week or two, it just goes away. I know that sounds strange, but if you look at my G35 there are no yellow stains.

I don't let bird lime sit for long. I do a walk around each time I get to the car and if I see any I take it off right away. I have a mf towel in the car all the time and a small spray bottle with water to rid off the excrement from the paint. The longer it sits, the more likely it would etch. I just use water but there are a lot of products out there. The detailing and washing section has lots of info about this topic.
