Also is it hard to get aftermarket bumpers and spoiler to be paint matched to the pearl white? I even noticed in some pics the sideskirts and bumpers look a little darker or a little yellow compared to rest of car.

This is my second pearl white Z, and both had noticeably different shades of white from the body to the bumper. :shakes head:

I had some body work done to my old Z, and the shop did a great job of blending the paint on the rear fender. So I guess it depends on how good the shop is.

Yeah this is my fear. Reason why I ask is cause I'm getting a new Z and right now I have Gun Metallic and love it but I am looking to do a full Nismo conversion and I have to say a white Nismo looks best. But it does require me to buy the parts and have them paint matched to pearl white and my fear is I will spend all this money and have the parts look different shades of white. I feel I can get away with paint matching on the Gun Metal, but I think the pearl white will be tough.

oh wow i didn't even think of that, you brought up a good point.
Im interested in pearl white as well, i was wondering if i should have the bottom aero kit painted to match the car, or the standard/carbon fiber they come with.

Cafiax that looks good. You at stock height or has that been lowered? Did you have any problems fitting the front lip over the fangs cover?

osbornsm 03-27-2012 03:28 PM

OMG what rear fascia is this??

Looks like Shine Auto with the rear valence vinyl wrapped or painted black.

Cafiax 03-27-2012 04:19 PM

I did not lower it at all. Its stock height with 20/25mm H&R Spacers. Yeah its Shine Auto Sunline replica with 3M Vinyl wrap CF front fangs and diffuser :) so no fang cover.

Anyone have info on the difficultly of paint matching PW on say an aftermarket bumper or spoiler? I know even from factory it has some slight discoloration between the panels already.

Every shop I've been to say just painting one part by itself will never match. They all recommend body panel blending.

That sucks. A buddy of mine wants to get a Nismo kit for his Z and needs it paint matched to his PW and his fear is it will not match.
