Try taking those kinds of shots later in the day. Sun is a little too high. Need to move around to avoid direct light and cause too much flare. If a silhouette is the goal, take the shot at a lower angle. In the photo, the tree on the left of the sun could be used to diffuse direct sunlight.

Oh you mean the snow shot.
That's beside my parents house. I would never think of going in their driveway. Huge slope and huge curb. Even stock, I never considered it. My own drive way, I have about two fingers on the front and one finger under the back of the skirts, going in angled. Just as I calculated.
