Damn! I am amazed anyone could go 25k on those stock tires and was likely the cause.
I know most members here go about half that much before replacing them. I replaced mine at 18k and I do a lot of highway driving and they were pretty darn bald. |

Change those tires guys! Sorry to hear about the accident OP. at least it isn't totaled, and looks easily repairable. Some scary stuff though.
This is what happened to me after I hydroplaned on the interstate. Spun a 360 and was hit by an eighteen wheeler...

Something about Z's and the rain. . . I made a very slow turn last year in my Z (i had a 350Z) and ended up fish tailing and smacking the curb. Light damage (curb rash and broken rear control arm) but still. The Z does not like rain.

IMHO I don't think it is the Z itself that doesn't like rain, but the fact that we put on high performance tires that seem to have the rear tires wear out quickly for some reason
It was raining/snowing today and my Blizzaks were very solid. Also, when I put on tire from now on I will always put on a complete, new set. Sometimes the fronts will last twice as long as the rears, but to me that is dangerous in the Z. |

I am very anal about my tires, so at the first sign of low treads, they will be replaced. OP, glad you are OK and like others have said, the car can be fixed. Hope to see you a Z-Days.

Tire condition is very important in any situation. I got 26k outta my rears, but I wanted to see how long they would last being the stock tires. I was impressed with them, but will not be pushing that far again. I have Hankook V12s on the rear and the sock Advan Sports on the front (getting bald) right now, but will be replacing all 4 with new Advan A08s when I get back to the states. If you are going to do spirited driving in a moderate capacity, I would stay away from the V12s and get something more aggressive. They don't stack up well against the Advans, unless we are talking about price!
OP: How did everything go with insurance and repairs?
