You could always cut the tips off your nismo exhaust... or could have just taken your stock exhaust to a shop and told them to make some muffler delete pipes.

I tried that route but I didn't want to really scrape the Nismo exhaust when I could sell it. And most places wanted more than what aam sells then for. If they line up to the holes I doubt the .5" will make a substantial difference. These will be temporary until I can afford the motordyne shockwave anyway

My Z came with the nismo exhaust and I fell in love with the huge tips. Then I purchased aam short tails, took one look at them, put them back in the box and sold them the next day. The difference in tip size is HUGE.. and AAMs trumpet style double layered tips make them look even smaller. DO NOT ATTEMPT lol you will be disappointed

Wish I would have come across your thread sooner. I went through the same dilemma. Ended up keeping my nismo exhaust.. Might go with HFCs or TPs to give it some life. But honestly I can't justify spending $1500 for a little extra sound and maybe 15hp. Hope you find what youre looking for!!

Well the way I look at it, for me it's probably the biggest mod I'll do on my Nismo. And I was one of the first if not the first to have the md shockwave on my 350z. It's literally one of the best sounding exhausts out there with amazing quality. A few club members purchased one after hearing my car because it sounded so deep and exotic. I just wanted the aam short tails for the mean time to get some sound out of the car.
