These guys work at the Nissan Proving Grounds in Casa Grande, AZ. This is like 25 minutes from my house. They took out some of the test cars from the proving grounds for a little fun. These cars are scheduled to be torn down for evaluation soon.

I was getting pissed and more pissed as I watched that video. Now we know the car is being torn down so I couldn't care less. I hope Nissan doesn't throw the hammer down on those guys when Nissan sees this. And they will.

Hoon a company car, put it on Youtube, and get away with it? Depends on how it plays out I guess. Nissan may watch the comments and then act according to popular opinion. If it equates to free, positive publicity, they might let it go. If people say "Those Nissan employees are a couple of buffoons" then I'd expect Nissan to crack the whip.

On another note, I didn't know tires would make so much noise on El Mirage. I work not far from there but I haven't been there yet.

IF they are Nissan employees, then I'd probably have Nissan USA take the video down. WHY?

a. They DO NOT show any professionalism at all. Their language is foul and NOT appropriate.

b. Their derogatory comments (i.e. "Here are the ugly headlights") are unacceptable.

c. I highly doubt that's what Nissan ask them to do.

I would like to find out who they are (name) and what plant they work for (also their position).

Completely agree with you.

What's that saying, any publicity is good publicity? I agree with you. If the video gets a million hits Nissan will probably leave it up. If not they'll probably have it taken down.

On a personal level I think the guys are idiots unless Nissan specifically authorized them to abuse it like that.

I agree with you of course. But, I'm not the type who hangs out at the mall with his baseball cap on sideways, and I expect neither are you, or most folks on this board.

I have to face the fact, though, that many of those type of idiots have a LOT of dollars to vote with, including the wherewithal to purchase sports cars. And if they find this sort of video to be "cool" then it will generate sales.

Even with all that in mind, though, if those were my employees, I'd call them in and tell them that it was a shame they blew a tire sliding my car across the desert on their last day at work for Nissan! I couldn't for a minute tolerate such people working for me. If they act like this on video, just what are they up to when they think no one is looking?

Agreed. I DO agree with you on the 2nd paragraph. You always have some douchebag spoiled kid looking at videos like this and buying the car. Nissan DO NOT know about this video. Judging by it's title, many people searching for 370Z won't even see the video. I'll just wait and see what happens.

I can't get the e-mail to work! I'd like to let Nissan HQ, in Tennessee know about this video!
It may not be the right person, but I'm sure the proper person will be informed!

Hello,

I and several of my colleagues wish to call to Nissan's attention the following video.

[link omitted here]

This video allegedly shows two Nissan employees sliding a pre-production 370Z around on El Mirage lake until one of the tires delaminates. It is not noted in the video whether or not Nissan condones this behavior or the release of the video to the world, but we assume that Nissan does not, and would not, approve of either one or the other. The video is, in our opinion, a shameful display of employee attitude. We find it to be both offensive and in poor taste.

Sincerely,
Mike Valant

Thanks Mike. Very well written. There are plenty of GREAT Nissan 370Z videos out there. I think we can live without this one. John actually is a cool guy. He'll get back to you pretty quick.
