Default Pearly White goodness.

Hey all, new owner here... I took a random trip down to one of the local Nissan Dealers and stumbled onto the exact Z I was looking for. I lurked here for a few days to get a handle on pricing, but went down earlier today and signed the papers.

And grats by the way, you can't beat the tremendous deal that is a Base + Sport and 6MT! If I weren't so damn stuck on having the factory Nav, i'd have done the same. And i'm a big fan of the leather seats

I gave up on comparing new cars to my VIII, because its was so heavily modified. Seeing as I haven't really been able to push the Z yet, I can't really say how the two stack up. My Evo was cam'd and pushing 22-ish PSI, not to mention all the other little mods that supported those two biggies. Steering wise, the Z is a lot smoother. If I sneezed while holding onto the steering wheel in my Evo I'd end up in the next lane over. While that kind of response was nice, it took a fair amount time to learn how to be smooth. I'm also enjoying the more linear response from having an NA engine. The Evo basically had an on/off switch at 3k rpms when the turbo finally spooled up. The little burble from the VQ is pretty nice too

I wasn't real hung up on leather or navi, although I would've liked the Bose stereo... but it wasn't worth the extra thousands of dollars it would have ended up costing in the end.

Yeah, I realized that just now when I clicked the link... hindsight man, hindsight.

For the poster who asked, I got this Z from Reed Nissan. They were decent with me, but nothing I'd right home about. I went in with the price list from this site, and an excel spreadsheet I had worked up with all the varying costs laid out, as well as a finance breakdown for different APRs and different prices so I'd know exactly where I stood each time they came back with numbers. After the requisite ******** (about .5-1 hour worth of haggling), they basically came out with the exact numbers I had walked in with for my trade-in, and the price of their car.

Lesson for the buyer, be prepared! I have my spreadsheet which I can upload if anyone wants it. Parts of it are dynamic (you could change the numbers to suit you), but other parts I had to manually enter in data.
