Precisely my feelings.

the badge is nice. good job with that. personally i like it.

i'm not sure it would translate well here in the States. for those that don't know about the Z heritage will probably laugh at the 'Fairlady' word because quite frankly for a sports car advertised with 332hp, it's kinda weak sounding compared to the american cars names like mustang and/or camero, etc.

You know, I think about that (already ordered the badge), but in the end it is my car and if you do not know about something do not laugh. I always wonder why I see cobra badges on certain cars which are not but now I know.

I do hope people who see it and wonder will ask and not just make fun of it.

I like it.. and will consider using the badge on my car as well.

You can't compare it to someone who had a base model Mustang and converted it to a Cobra then slapped the badge on because you can actually buy the Cobra.

To me, our 370z are the same thing as the FairladyZ.. there's no even more top end model that you can buy, I think by using the badge, you're just paying omage to it's Japanese name. It will also give your vehicle a small sleeper look leaving people wondering what you're driving ;)

Edit: My girlfriend laughs at the fact i'd consider putting "Fairlady" on the back of my car.. she thinks of it in the girly-man sense lol.

I disagree. They are the same car with a different name. You could also go as far and say you cannot put any JDM parts on US cars because you are Japanese wanna-be....I don't think so.

Cars off the assembly line are all the same. You want to do something to it to make it different...personalize it.

I am not sure I would do it, but I like it!

frost 05-02-2009 09:17 PM

Yeah, I think there is a little bit of a difference between calling a car something it's not, and calling the car something it's called somewhere else. Since they are the same car, no big deal in my opinion. Not like taking a z and throwing a gt-r badge on it :D

I wouldn't do it to my car just because people are retarded enough when they see me on the street. Louisville is big on american muscle and the corvette, so a lot of stupid kids driving their parents' cars asking dumb questions and revving their engines. I don't need another stupid one added to the long list, lol.

As for how it looks, I think it's fine.

frost 05-02-2009 09:54 PM

PS, just checked thezstore.com looking at the emblem. For the 350 fairlady badge, $27. For the 370 fairlady badge, $40.
:mad::shakes head:

Now this I agree with....you put fairladyZ on a car and all the tards (who out number use btw) will be like wtf is that.

Owning a Z is awesome. A ton of random people come up to me and ask me about the car. Followed by I didn't know there was a 370, and how is is different. I usually start with how about opening your damn eyes! If it had fairladyZ on it you would have to explain it all day long! I guess you could just say google it mofo!

not to high jack but I saw a Datsun fairlady 1600 on the hiway I was in my g on one side of him and in no time a 350Z was up on the other side. there were big thumbs up all around.

Price gouging on a "new" product is going to happen - this could be happening on the dealer side rather than at the "Z store".. I may wait for prices to come down or hope they pop up on Ebay on the cheap.

The Fairlady Z emblem (ordered from thezstore) came with a template. All you have to do is unpeel the back, align the corners of the template and then stick away.

Quick note on debadging: Never try to pry them off with your fingers!! I tried prying off the Z part of the 370Z emblem from the top right side and ended up getting an indentation on my paint from the bottom left side of the 'Z'.

To debadge, all you have to do is:

1 Heat up the area with a hair dryer or a heat gun.
2 Use a fishing line or dental floss to remove the '3' '7' '0' and the 'Z'
3 Heat up the area again and the left over 3m from the emblem should rub off
4 There will be areas where it will not rub off so use Goo Gone with a microfiber to clean it off (use olive oil if you don't have Goo Gone).
