Lap around Ponoco Raceway - Performance Motorsport 370Z
You can see him push the VDC button for some reason..
:driving: |
Nice... Not sure why he hit the button but I can ask... I will be going up to their shop tomorrow...
This makes me real sad that I didnt go last weekend :( here is one from inside the car And one at New Jersey Motorsports Park |
He turned the VDC off. He started the first lap with it off and after a few laps came in to pit and I guess turned the car off. As we know, when you restart the car VDC is re-engaged. He must not have realized it until getting into the turns so on the straight, he turned it off which is what you saw. That clip was only one lap out of a 20 minute long clip from the GoPro.

Sick vids. Any idea how fast he got up to on the straights? I have a cabin very close to this raceway, when is the next time you guys are going? I did not have the money this time.
|
idk what they did. In my car i did 140 down the front straight and a little over 150 on the back straight. just to give u an idea

Great videos. |
Interesting... I run this track, and we go the opposite direction, and use an additional chicane on the back straight. Pocono is kind of a boring track, very long and unchallenging, full speed in my car down the front straight, just cruising awaiting the 1st turn :) I catch myself daydreaming.
I do like the twisty part of the course, but don't go off course as it is very rough. To me it looked like he put the VDC on the last turn as it is fast and he didn't want to oversteer coming out and potentially wreck, and then he turned it off again on the straight. |
Nice videos!
It looks like the car is running type-F's what are the offsets on these wheels? they look more flush than 9.5 +22/ 10.5 +15 |

I understand it's for downforce, but man the wing attached to the bumper just looks like a complete mess. Wrong so Wrong! :shakes head:
|
If it funtions, who gives a damn what it looks like while going around the track... They have the wing off while at the shop and for the little driving the car does around town... It looks pretty bad *** in person though... They fabed it up, its custom and if it helps the dowbforce than I dont disagree with it at all...
And as far as putting the VDC on and off there is absolutely no need to hold it down... Do you even own a 370z? haha ..... Or you NEVER turn off VDC? It may of been to take that winding turn at a higher speed without the chance of losing the rear, or what anthony said... Regardless hitting a button on a straight-a-way is not bad driving... |
Great vids. Does mounting the wing down low like that help even more with adding downforce to the lower end of the car instead of all the energy being transferred threw the car?
|
looks like a shopping cart lol :driving:

Wow, mad haters. I think the car looks fine guys, dont listen to these dopes. Anyone who wants there race car to look better first then perform well second is a dope anyway. I have see this car in person and I know what Performce is capable of. I'm sure the wing is mounted there for a reason.

Anthony, any pictures on how the wing is mounted?
I have seen similar setups before, but the mounts are drilling into the rear from the top down and bolted onto the frame. This basically will require sealing the trunk shut permanently. Yours is behind the car bolted to the frame by the looks of it, my concern would be a bend happening with the bar going from the wing mount to the car. |
Nice vids. I think the car looks awesome. That wing setup is very trick. :tiphat: to you guys.
|
Those are horrible as well. Atleast this car is utilizing the wing unlike some of the cars you posted.
