He turned the VDC off. He started the first lap with it off and after a few laps came in to pit and I guess turned the car off. As we know, when you restart the car VDC is re-engaged. He must not have realized it until getting into the turns so on the straight, he turned it off which is what you saw. That clip was only one lap out of a 20 minute long clip from the GoPro.

Good driving - reaching down fiddling with a button at those speeds driving with one hand... not only do you have to push it, you have to push and hold.

Sick vids. Any idea how fast he got up to on the straights? I have a cabin very close to this raceway, when is the next time you guys are going? I did not have the money this time.

I have never had to push and hold, just a quick push and VDC kicks off.
Great videos.

Interesting... I run this track, and we go the opposite direction, and use an additional chicane on the back straight. Pocono is kind of a boring track, very long and unchallenging, full speed in my car down the front straight, just cruising awaiting the 1st turn :) I catch myself daydreaming.

I do like the twisty part of the course, but don't go off course as it is very rough.

To me it looked like he put the VDC on the last turn as it is fast and he didn't want to oversteer coming out and potentially wreck, and then he turned it off again on the straight.

Nice videos!

It looks like the car is running type-F's what are the offsets on these wheels? they look more flush than 9.5 +22/ 10.5 +15

About 146/147mph. Not sure when we are going back to Poconos but the next race is at NJMP August 6-7 for Global Time Attack.

I understand it's for downforce, but man the wing attached to the bumper just looks like a complete mess. Wrong so Wrong! :shakes head:

chuckd05 07-22-2011 04:55 PM

If it funtions, who gives a damn what it looks like while going around the track... They have the wing off while at the shop and for the little driving the car does around town... It looks pretty bad *** in person though... They fabed it up, its custom and if it helps the dowbforce than I dont disagree with it at all...

And as far as putting the VDC on and off there is absolutely no need to hold it down... Do you even own a 370z? haha ..... Or you NEVER turn off VDC? It may of been to take that winding turn at a higher speed without the chance of losing the rear, or what anthony said... Regardless hitting a button on a straight-a-way is not bad driving...

SPOHN 07-23-2011 08:47 AM

Great vids. Does mounting the wing down low like that help even more with adding downforce to the lower end of the car instead of all the energy being transferred threw the car?
