Today we took a 149.5 mile trip down the old Oregon Trail, through the Columbia River Gorge and back around Mt Hood. I love this car!

I plan to take my Z on the same route next week. I have gone that route with my wife on the Harley and I can't wait to take the Z out that way. Congrats on the purchase!

The best part is going down the Barlow Trail. Lots of turns and twists with some pretty good road! I live in Welches, so I go down Lolo Pass road to Barlow Trail and follow that all the way in towards Gresham and on around to hwy 30 towards Multnomah Falls. The first time I was ever on those backroads was on our old Harley!

How were the roads around Mt. Hood? Iv'e only been there when there was compact snow and ice in the SUV but wondered how they would be in the Spring/Summer (potholes?, rocks? State Patrol?)

The Barlow Trail from north of Zig Zag all the way into almost Gresham is a blast to drive! Hwy 30 past Multnomah Falls was ok, but slow due to lots of tourists. Hwy 35 is fun, but there is some road work and for good reason.
Another fun road to drive is from Hwy 26 to Timothy Lake. |

I have an idea about getting a Z run together this Summer going down the old Barlow Trail. I posted it in the North West Region here on this site.
Any interest in doing a Z run down the Barlow Trail? |
