Glad to know the oil temp stayed low, i've been monitoring mine for a week now |

Nice vid semtex
He was being pretty responsible with it, don't worry In a past life with a past car, I've hit similar speeds along a certain freeway corridor in TX, I think, maybe, but not really, errr... It's a real adrenaline rush, which is why nobody cruises like that for very long at a stretch. The adrenaline would eventually cause a heart attack. It's not like the sterile environment of doing it on a track - there's a lot more "what if" 's to worry about. I can safely admit to 117mph in that car though, since that was the value written on a speeding ticket I once received a few years ago, so that's already old news to Johnny Law. The cop let me drive away with the ticket though. He was pretty cool about it all things considered. He made a very pointed comment about the number of seconds my brake lights were lit up before he could get a solid lock on me with his instant-on radar, and how many dollars that saved me. As I've aged I'm just not willing to take the risk very often anymore though (the legal risk, I mean). I've only had the Z up to about 110 so far, but then I woke up because it was all in a dream . |

Guys, just for the record, I don't drive this fast normally. I don't go out every Sunday morning and try to break the sound barrier either. Really I just wanted to test out my new camera, and figured if I drove at normal speeds it'd make for some pretty boring video, so why not spice things up a little and see what the Z can really do (so long as there weren't too many cars on the highway). What I really want to do with this camera is take it on a drive through the North Georgia mountains. We have some really awesome roads up there that would make for some great footage. There's one road in particular that's full of switchbacks and 180-degree hairpins that always, without fail, leaves my brakes literally smoking by the time I reach the end. Come to think of it, some of you might find my driving on mountain roads even more frightening. But the footage should be fun to watch!

Here are a couple of pics to show you guys the roads I'm talking about. These pics don't do them full justice, of course, because it's hard to get a sense of the banking and elevation changes. But that's what the camera is for! They are an absolute blast to drive. Route 180 is the one that leaves my brakes smoking.

Brilliant video! That last part where you were on the exit ramp going toward the sun seemed like my ascension into heaven! FWIW I will do a top speed run when/if I get my ZED. Drive that ____ 'till the wheels fall off!

Not sure if I can do Little Talladega this far ahead of the date. I'm sure we'll touch base before then tho.

Cops are the best.
If you get pulled, it's your fault for being an idiot. Cops are there to help us everyday and to protect us from crazy people. Then again some cops are just crazy...
